Whats funny is the kids who had strong ECs and competitive awards think USABO and USACO Platinum, ISEF, max rigor, and 4.0s can NOT find an account, while the ones who have mid ECs like free-for-all volunteering can. I am in-state.
I know people who got in with 3.8 unweighted for language degrees and like Asian studiesâŠâŠare you in a competitive district? Also are they first gen? You donât know their extracurriculars or essays or if they had problems and submitted additional docs. Is it a lot of people?
once you log onto calcentral, hit the box that says navigating SIS CS and that first box in there says âlog into campus solutionsâ this is where you get the forbidden!
No they are NOT first gen or low-income. I know for a fact these students do not have spectacular writing compared to the cracked students. (I read their essays)
It solely depends on the major that they applied for. I have a 4.0 and the maxed UC capped weighted gpa like 4.333 so it would make sense for me to have the id when I applied engineering. Other L&S non-competitve majors probably donât have insanely cracked applicants so it would make sense that these people are in the running for Berkeley.
This isnât even bad. Assuming your school uses semesters and you took 6 classes per semester, you would get a 3.87 UW if you had 3 Bs with the rest of your grades being As. Also, with holistic review, there are obviously multiple other factors that contribute to admission.
how many are there? admissions processes are weird sometimes. i donât think we can say IDs may equal waitlists based on just a few kids from your school, especially when 6 years of ID history indicate otherwise
I donât think you will ever hear that multiple 3.7 GPA and low rigor students were accepted into Cal over 4.0 students with max rigor for STEM majors like EECS.
