Perhaps if they explained it well enough in their additional information section, they could have gotten away with it. Also, are you aware of their weighted GPA, or is 3.7-3.8 their weighted? Based on prior data, a decent chunk of berkeley admits to the ccdss had a weighted gpa between 4.0-4.4.
then its very possible they had amazing piqs or an admissions officer saw smth in them that told them theyd fit in well at ucb. real people read the apps and not bots so its impossible to say people with low gpas having an id automatically makes the id mean nothing

I know people who have gotten rejected/waitlisted from all the sub 30% acceptance rate UCs, and were still able to get into Berkeley. It seems that Berkeley looks for something different in their applicants.

if you look up that id in your email, etc does it show up from summer sessions??

Since you took it in 2024, it makes sense your ID starts with 304.
not too sure what u mean, but my summer sessions calcentral ID is the exact same as campus solutions ID. The campus solutions method doesnât apply to me at all though.
does anyone know how 2nd major is considered at berkeley. I have the ID and I put EECS first choice and Data Sci 2nd choice. am worried about the possibility that I only got admitted for my 2nd choice since EECS is so competitive.
Totally agree. I know some people in my school who got into UCLA even though their GPA was not perfect but around 3.6-3.7, but maybe they have a good story.

If you look on the Berkeley admissions website FAQ, it says âCurrently, Berkeley only guarantees the review of the primary major and will not review students for an alternate major.â Thus, I doubt they consider your alternate major.

I registered for berkeley summer sessions, never paid for the class and donât believe I was issued a cal net id at all. If you look up âcal net idâ in your email does it show up from the summer sessions class you took?
Also I just got an email for fall program for first semester

True. In my cycle so far 2 have ids and both have 4.0/>4.8 GPA.

I saw that you also have the ID. Just take it as a good sign. youâll find out the result on Thursday. Donât stress over why some âlow GPAâ students at your school also have IDs. You never know how they crafted their applicationsâmaybe they have a compelling story that Berkeley admissions found appealing.

If you donât have a âyes IDâ now, take a screenshot of what you have with date, so later if/when you get aâyes IDâ you can prove that the first wave was not the only one.
