@calgirl2015
That makes sense because Davis is a lot more stats oriented than Ucla and ucsd. They are more holistic. Like I said it’s not impossible at all to not get into Ucla but get into berkeley… I know people who have. I’m just saying that there’s a reason someone didn’t get into UCLA, And berkeley has a lower acceptance rate so yes the majority of people who get into berkeley and applied to UCLA got into all but once again, not all.
@DonCarlos1710
I’m in the same situation and I think it’s a good sign but not a guaranteed acceptance of course.
Oh haha, yeah, I think those are coming out tomorrow, sorry about that @calgirl2015! Since you got the nomination, do you think you’re going to be coming to Cal in the Fall?
@smileykins yup, most likely. Especially if i get regent. I am still waiting on CMU & Rice. But since i didn’t get any earlier likely letter, I doubt I will be offered any scholarship if I am admitted. So yeah, most likely Cal.
I’ve heard from a few friends that berkeley and ucla work together and that usually, most kids get into one or the other to increase their yield rates. Is that true? If someone got into UCLA, are they most likely not going to get into Cal?
@strsedovrcolege Parchment.com used to provide a lot more raw data than it does now (more packaged now) and I ran some numbers trying to make sense of the data set. What I recall was seeing many instances of people rejected at Berkeley accepted at UCLA or vise versa. It doesn’t mean there’s a conspiracy. Just that they look at the applicant pool somewhat differently.
I searched the UC Berkeley student directory and my name was there, as was one of my friends who applied, but not others who I know applied. My friend said that they had possibly posted the admitted students to the directory already, is this true?
