***UC Berkeley Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

@RainaJohnson NYU? I feel ya. Got rejected from Northwestern ED myself

Nope, Claremont McKenna @McKilla99. It followed a rejections from Pomona College during ED. IT was a rough time

@RainaJohnson that’s rough. But hey, you got Berkeley, which isn’t a compromise tbh

Are most people that got accepted into Berkeley “early” students from California?

Yeah, it’s close to home so I’ll probably attend @McKilla99. I’m waiting on Barnard, Wellesley, and Tufts before I commit.

@RainaJohnson as of right now my top choices are UMich and Georgia Tech. I’m waiting for UCLA, Berkeley, UChicago, Cornell, Brown, and UPenn. Other than UCLA, I don’t stand much of a chance at these unis :’)

Very nice @McKilla99. Hopefully, I’ll see you at Berkeley next year…or UCLA

lol @ all you who refresh their portals obsessively and noticing the smallest of the things that changed. 500% sure that the self reported score thing means nothing. LOL! Relax guys, only about one more month of waiting

I have just checked MAP@Berkeley and everything under “Application Checklist” has disappeared. There is simply nothing there, as if there was nothing to “check”. I wonder if that has happened to any one else here…

@skywalker11 everything for me is still there

Did anyone get an email invite to join the undergraduate research mailing list? The website for it urges that you sign up with a berkeley.edu email, but since I still haven’t been accepted, I’m absolutely utterly confuzzled about what this means. Any ideas anyone?

Is there going to be an official facebook group for the students accepted on Feb 12?

@goodone There’s a UC Berkeley - Class of 2020 (Official Group) on Facebook. I’ve seen three groups so far with the name Berkeley class of 2020, though one of them seems to be constantly spammed with random events.

@Dew123 I’m wondering if there is going to be an official group affiliated with Cal that will be organized before the March regular decision date. I’m hoping to possibly talk to other Regents accepted students in my state or just chat on the group during the next month. For one of the colleges I got into early with scholarship (similar process to Cal), I received an email directly from the school with a link to an affiliated fb page.

@10s4life thanks a lot but I’m still not sure what it means is it like hint? Has no one else got this? If so, is there a chance it might just be a mistake(however improbable, considering how organised UCB is)?

For those already admitted, do you know when we get our acceptance letters/packages?

@anandrishabh1
Could you copy and paste the email you got?? For leadership scholarship invitation which a lot of people on here got, there was a link to website and a lot of people could just get onto website even without invitation.

For your question, I think it is a good sign if it is not like something you sign up on website that is open to everyone. Even if it is open to alot of people, since you are the only one who got it, I think it is a really good sign.
I think you will eventually get in.
For me as an engineering applicant, I am a bit worried because MY weighted GPA is only about 4.3.
And again, I will be thankful if you can copy and paste the email you got.

@10s4life .
I know… I probably should have. However, I heard changing to Engineering at Berkeley is also very challenging.
Even considering engineering, I think you still have great stats.
I saw found several people with lower stats getting regents or accepted early this year. Are they most likely not Engineering?

Just received my acceptance letter today in the mail! It comes from USPS in a blue envelope. I’m from the Bay Area so I’m probably one of the first to receive it. :slight_smile: I’m sure those of you living in SoCal or out-of-state will receive yours in the coming days!

Never mind to my last question. I’m from Missouri and I received the letter today!!
