***UC Berkeley Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

That’s awesome to hear! Given the President’s Day holiday yesterday, seems like USPS had more time to deliver out-of-state before the people closer to Cal received it.

@anandrishabh1 a bit of random question but what email client do you use

@10s4life
He said he did not get in early, and he was asking if it was a good sign.
In my opinion, I think it is a really good sign.

So for the Regents Scholarship interview, we can choose any of the locations (Berkeley, LA, or SD) for UC Berkeley, right? Because all the Berkeley and LA ones in my prospective major were already filled. I just don’t want to end up accidentally interviewing for UCSD Regents

@longsock123 Yes, you can choose any of the locations! It does mention on the interview signup page that “If there are no open spots within the field of interest you originally choose, please select a different field of interest to view other available interview times. Speaking with a faculty member in a field of interest that differs from your own will not negatively affect your interview or your chances of being awarded the scholarship - you will have an interesting and engaging conversation no matter what!” So maybe you could interview with someone in a different field and still be fine.

Just booked an appointment for my interview for the Regents’ & Chancellor’s Scholarship , does anyone know what kind of questions they’re going to ask? Or how this interview is gonna go? Also, do we need to bring anything? I have the meeting next Saturday, the 27th…

@jellybeanjenny I would expect it to be a casual conversation, like the college interviews. If your interviewer is someone from your field, you might get a few questions about why you’re interested in that field.
I have the interview on the same day as you do.

@1golfer1 Thank you for the response, and good luck!

Did you guys notice that we need to upload the letters of recommendation ourselves for Regents’/Chancellor’s through the portal? That’s a little bit weird.

yall think Berkeley would let me submit recs a month late…I’m still rly pissed about it

For those students who had already submitted LOR earlier to UCB, they don’t need to upload any extra LOR now.

@jellybeanjenny hey! is there a place to sign up for this interview once you get accepted? or do they send you another email?

@longsock123 hi! so i got accepted (woohoo!!) but i didn’t receive anything involving an interview… do i have to sign up for it on my own or will they send me an additional email? thanks!

@keyboard23 You may be one of the students who were accepted to Cal last Friday but did not receive an invitation to interview for the Regents and Chancellors Scholarship. Some students posted last week on this thread that they were accepted but did not receive the scholarship invitation.

@basketball8643 hmm, so those people got a different email asking them to interview?

@keyboard23 - in your map@berkeley portal status page (when you select “View Update>>”, below your congratulations letter, there should be several links to select under “The following letters are available for this account:”. If you were selected to interview for the regents/chancellor scholarship, one of the links will be “R&C Scholarship Information - February 12, 2016”. The information about interviewing will be in that link.

I see, sadly I didn’t get it… but thank you for clarifying!!

So is anyone else having trouble canceling interviews? The site for canceling my interview (trying to change from SD to LA) straight doesn’t work, and my Regents representative didn’t pick up the phone.

Can you guys chance me please?
