Hi there. I very unexpectedly just got my son’s acceptance letter in the mail!!! He’s at school so I haven’t opened it, but if he’s selected for the scholarship process (we are OOS), then would there be something in the packet, would he receive an email about it, or is that info only available on the portal? Thanks!
@envieng82020 I am confused. We just got an acceptance packet in mail today for my son. I haven’t opened yet because he isn’t home but I’m just now reading all of these posts from 2/12 and have some questions. (My son’s phone was broken last week and we were out of the country on vacation so he didn’t check his emails but presumably he’s done so by now and he hasn’t mentioned anything to me about anything from Berkeley). Okay, so did everyone accepted early get an email last week? Did some people get 2 emails – one for acceptance and one for scholarship? Does the packet in the mail also contain info about scholarship if you are invited to apply for that? I’m just really confused. Thanks!
@tennessee1 the scholarship information if invited is on the portal. He will need to sign up for an interview. There was an email on Friday around 4pm to check portal. I don’t see anything in the packet about the scholarship invite. Congrats!
Okay thanks! So was the email on Friday just regarding the scholarship or did it also let you know you were accepted?
@tennessee1 It said there is an update to your UC Berkeley application and to please check the portal. The scholarship invite is at the bottom of the page on the portal or can also be accessed by clicking Step 2 on the portal. Yay!
Thank you, @nubble16!!!
Did anyone else get an email about “Summer at Berkeley with Global Edge”
“Want to start your freshman year in an extraordinary way? Spend your summer at Berkeley then your fall semester abroad in London, Madrid, or Rome! If you are admitted to Berkeley, we invite you to learn about Global Edge, a program for newly admitted Berkeley freshmen.”
Does this mean anything?
I doubt it. I got the same email.
I got the email too.
I got the e-mail too and I was accepted, so I’m assuming they’re just sending it out to all applicants
@10s4life I saw that too! I was wondering if that was the same “theory” for UCB. If they are considering us for admission.
@10s4life That Global Edge Program inserted my name, even though it seems like a mass email.
@10s4life . Did you also get that email??
It looks like I am the only one to not have received that email… I am scared
I got that email too, as well as the invite to join the undergraduate research mailing list (@anandrishabh1 ) but it is so incredibly easy to insert people’s names in mass emails like these that I am 99% sure it means absolutely nothing in terms of admissions.
@handsomeboy you’re not alone! I didn’t get one either! And i didn’t get the undergraduate research email either
Got the email also, and applied college of letter and and science
Eligibility
To be eligible for Global Edge, you must:
Be a newly admitted freshman in the College of Letters & Science or College of Natural Resources
Be 18 years old by August 13, 2016
Have a valid passport from the United States or EU passport at time of application
Maybe they only sent it to the people who applied to the College of Letters & Science or the College of Natural Resources
@bestone1999 …
Does that mean it is only sent to people who applied to College of Letters& Science or College of Natural Resources??
I applied to College Of Engineering… mechanical Engineering
By the way, @10s4life
Did you get that email??
I applied chemical engineering and didn’t get an email
