UC Berkeley - Class of 2022 Applicants Thread

I’m really debating between UCB and UCSD… which is better in general and for chem?

D accepted, Bioengineering. didn’t get any emails on sunday.
1500 SAT (single sitting = mentioned it on her essay) 790 Math II 3.96/4.29/4.50 UC GPA.

didn’t think she would get in since she only took 1 subject test (didn’t know B/LA recommended 2).
for the future applicants, it is possible to get into B with only 1 subject test despite popular belief.

applied to 7 schools this year (all bioEg), accepted to 5 (UCB,SD,SB,I & D), waitlisted at 2 (LA & CP SLO) but will be attending CAL regardless.

I GOT IN! and with that, my college admissions journey is officially over! for anyone wondering, i did get the email on sunday, so i kind of suspected it already.

im a premed bio major and was wondering if anyone had any insight.

my next two choices are between UC Davis and USF

UC Davis Pros and Cons:
-1.5/2 hour commute (cant afford to live on campus)
-no financial aid
-hate the campus

  • STILL cheaper than USF
  • better pre med program

USF Pros and Cons;
-1/1.5hour commute (and bart fares)
-$46,000 tuition
-worse premed program
+$25,000 in merit scholarships
+Smaller classes
+internships

What should i do?
