UC Berkeley - Class of 2022 Applicants Thread

Hi everyone! I’ll post a quick thing about myself:
Female, Hispanic, US citizen, National Hispanic Scholar, 3rd in class of ~590 (weighted gpa 4.7755, unweighted 3.945), lots of psych background/entrepreneurship academy at school, pretty good essays, I think solid letters of rec, three internships, etc.
meh AP scores (mostly 3’s), ACT: 32 (submitted 35 E, 34 R, 30 S, 29 M I think), didn’t submit subject tests
Accepted: UCLA, UCSB, UC Berk (With regents), UC Davis, UC Irvine, CMC (with Makenna scholarship)
Rejected: Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, USC
Haven’t committed but leaning towards berk! feel free to message me if you ever have any questions!

Btw I’m a psych major interested in law school and if i go to berk I’d like to double in business at haas.

Can we apply for housing before submitting an SIR?

were you accepted?

@DarmokOfTenagra Do you really want to submit your housing application fee that early? Submitting it earlier does not make a difference. Plus if you decide not to go to UCB, then you have to figure out how to cancel your housing application. But you probably can?

@ShieldOfGod were you accepted?

Also, was anyone that received the PRESIR to NOT-REGISTERED get accepted/denied?

@nomoreinterviews
yes. vacillating on my decision and wondering if there is a finite amount of time from accepting on the website to being able to apply for housing?

@Walter924
see my answer

What time are they to release their decision tomorrow? Does anybody know?

@DarmokOfTenagra
The housing deadline is May 2nd. The college decision deadline is May1st.
There is no benefit to applying for housing earlier. It takes two hours or so to apply, probably less. So you can just do it the day after you decide and it shouldn’t be too much of a problem or hassle. I applied for housing on May 2nd and it was fine and I got my first choice. You might be able to start working on it now at least, but then submit the application after you make your decision. It’s a 25$ (or 30$) application fee.

But go to housing.berkeley.edu/apply and see if they let you start on it.

Does anyone know how to turn down an offer? There is only a button for accepting. Are you supposed to withdraw your application? That does seem accurate.

Including class of 1985, unless one was applying for Engineering.

When do the housing results come out?

I got waitlisted and does anyone know when my results will be coming out??

@class of 2o22 Possibly as soon as this Friday.

Anyone know when orientation week is this year?

So move in is on August 14 and classes don’t start for a week, what takes place during orientation? Do they receive some sort if safety training? I’m a nervous mom cause I’ve seen news about a two robberies in the last week:(

@socalemma refer to this link: https://orientation.berkeley.edu/sample-schedule

Will dropping one AP exam jeopardize admission??

What were the first year pathways offered to you? Did anyone get offered regular admission, or was it just FPF and Global Edge London?
