I agree with the previous poster who addressed trying to get into portals and creating summer program accounts to get your netid. I would not be doing that they can see every time you log in, I would think this is something they would frown upon, as it is shady, and it may cause someone getting their admittance re-sended. You’ve waited this long its 2 more days, I know the email situation probably freaked everyone out, those of us who got it have no idea what is happening either, but doing

@twinmomhell they couldn’t do that since some of us are actually trying to sign up for summer courses

I had two addresses just yesterday but now i hVe 4

im actually rlly worried. Am i the only one here that just has two addresses?

@aniles272 those are good stats. i’d say 50/50 chance. good luck

Did u get the email

Actually they can do whatever they want they are in charge, if they think you are trying to hack into their system through some back door, thats a problem. There were only about 400 posts about it, you think they don’t watch these threads?

For those with doubled up addresses, are the addresses EXACTLY the same? not different in any way (like addition of the longer zip code or such)?

@ironweasal Both my kids only have 2 addresses and they both got the email, it means nothing

@twinmomhell if we we’re hacking, for sure. But some of us are going to sign up for summer classes and they have no evidence we aren’t.

operative word “some”…I would error on the side of caution

@mclmom …different… like rd is spelled out as rode and longer zip is just traditional zip

@Twinmomhell that’s what I thought too at first I thought it wouldn’t be a good idea but cal has made some mistakes also and I don’t think they would rescind students for doing this. Students are just desperate and they haven’t actually gained anything from doing this either. I think it would be too extreme if students were rescinded for this.

Based on that information, I think the system is just verifying the addresses for all applicants and coming up with the recommended best address for mailing information - which could be admit letters or denial letters or who knows. Those people who did not use the “optimized” address as part of their application have double addresses shown. Those people who did use the optimized address (such as with longer 9-digit zip code) just have the one address (no duplication needed because the second address is the same). This has happened to me when buying things online - I have sometimes been asked whether I would rather use the official USPS format for an address or what I typed in.

everyone chill out. we literally hear back in about 58 hours. that’s less than two and a half days. CALM DOWN PEOPLE!

Before I singed up for the Summer thing I got a Cal id from trying to sign in with Cal central with map. The same number is the number they just sent me for the Summer session but when I log in I’m under registered and not the presir thing. With my fake email I get the presis thing and got the email right away while it took a day for my real email. I’m over analyzing again I need to stop

Everyone stop. I have 4 addresses and got the 3 am email. However, no one knows anything yet. Please stop worrying about this enjoy your day.

@Yaboical but why take the chance on something you have worked for the last 4 years?

Good luck to everyone on Thursday…it’s definitely been an exciting roller coaster for UC applicants this year with the assuming predictable being not so predictable anymore! All of the pieces on this thread are like a puzzle that will finally be completed in a few days! All of you please know your determination and hard work over the past 4 years is admirable and encouraging and I’m in awe of how bright our future looks with all of you super qualified applicants in it…no matter where you get accepted or decide to go…hats off and =D> future class of 2022
