Good Morning my CC friends, At a quick check before school, I now have 5 addresses on MAP…lol. Not even going to try and speculate what this means. Happy Wednesday all. Less than two days to go!
I hate to have to agree with Twinmomhell because I want to agree with the kids here. After reading these pages I suddenly feel this isn’t the school for my D and that she’d be better off at UCLA or Michigan. Shame, I grew up in Europe in the 70s and saw Berkeley as a cool place where change and progress was cultivated for the world to absorb. Doesn’t seem so cool anymore.
I don’t what these 4 or 5 addresses mean. My portal has always showed 2 address

@FiringSquad so now having integrity, dignity, honesty and self-respect is having an attitude of superiority? maybe you all should hold yourselves to higher standards then, cuz those things should be just basic qualities.
Just to balance it - I’m a mom and did the whole ‘summer school thing’ for my kid in order to find out (or speculate as the case may be). I adamantly disagree that it’s hacking (and I owned a tech company). Wish @Twinmomhell would back off.

I agree with @50staterunner . I never tried summer register thing because I already got into my dream school. But I do understand why students did try. @Twinmomhell should leave these 17 years old alone and don’t make them stressed.
Always had two addresses, and now woke up this morning with four. Two mailing and two permanent addresses, one of each has a longer zip code that I did not edit
Whether it’s hacking or not is irrelevant. What all these back door attempts can do is cause more work for whoever has to clear out all those registrations later or write all the code to block all these attempts so their events don’t fill up before their class is built. So many pages have kids who don’t know if the are accepted enrolling for admitted student days and summer programs. Schools have to come out and say “stop” and they shouldn’t have to. I’m not saying I blame anyone for trying or I think they are stupid or evil but all the speculation and obsessing isn’t helping anyone pass this time easier. It just ramps up your anxiety and honestly, I think it makes the school seem more important than it is.
I’m calling it right now, my kid isn’t getting into Berkeley. I went there but no way I could get in now. Eldest was rejected with wonderful stats and all her general Ed classes completed through duel enrollment and rich activities including a ton of professional work and a passion for learning and you know what? A really kind and funny person. They didn’t SEE her but other schools did and she graduates this year with so much success under her belt. Son is a great candidate as well but he’s also imperfect. Thankfully, he has great options. We all made sure that he did. It will sting like all rejection does but it’s going to be ok without Berkeley. More than OK, he’s going to thrive and so will all you whether you get in or not!

For future applicants’ fun with conspiracy theories, when you post your results please comment on whether you had two or four addresses ON THE DAY decisions are released.
It is weird to me that we all started with 2, then yesterday some had 2 and some had 4, and today some still have 4 and others are back to 2, and others only ever had 2. I can see updating across the board to make it easy, but “un-updating” across the board sounds like a pain. Easier to update once (those admitted or those not admitted).
@turtletime it also makes this group of kids seem either more passionate, desperate and/or immature than the kids I’ve seen on other school pages vis-a-vis their reaction to the same questions and doubts.
I now have four addresses though I had two previously. I don’t think this has anything to do with admissions at all but interesting to comment that it changed
I’ll update if this affected my decision tomorrow as well
so i originally had 2 addresses and then 4 yesterday but im down back down to 2. whatever this means i dont have faith that its a good sign. oh well
