I only have experience with Regents which is one of the main early admit categories. It’s a bit of a mystery, but I think usually ECs and PIQs and demonstrated leadership are a part of it. It is not just who has the highest stats (although your stats should be pretty competitive). It is not purely - and maybe not even primarily - an academic determination, however.
No to all of the above.
I just got an email “University of California Entry Level Writing Requirement”. Did everyone else get this?
yes i just recieved it too
Same
My son received it too… What does it mean… Does every one gets this email? Or only selected students gets it? Any idea , what is it’s meaning and impact later on
Anybody who applied gets the email. It has no relation to admissions (this is said in the email pretty clearly)
the email means nothing, everyone gets it
All UC’s have the Entry level writing requirement so informational only and sent to all applicants.
This link explains the requirement: Requirements | College Writing Programs
oh okay good to know. Also are there any portal astrology/indications yet? Ik Berkeley portal astrology was accurate last year
Good to know. Thank you for your answers.
What was the astrology last year?
It was something about “not authorized” vs “forbidden” when logging into the calnet account manager and then something with Berkeley campus solutions.
Did everyone receive this email, “University of California Entry Level Writing Requirement” ???
read the chat^^
I did get it
Just checking that for Berkeley receiving this email does not mean the candidate is likely rejected? There are a couple of posts on Reddit A2C that quote a college counselor saying that applicants that received the email went on to get rejected…
The email is a mass mailing regarding the ELWR which is a requirement for all the UC’s. It means nothing in terms of admission and an applicant will not be rejected for not meeting the ELWR.
Here is the information regarding the ELWR: Requirements | College Writing Programs
Thank you so much!
How does that make any sense at all? Why would you they inform you about their writing requirement if their only intention was to reject you, making their writing requirement entirely irrelevant to you anyway? Seems like a silly rumor to me.
