S25 surprise acceptance! In-state LSBE applicant, admitted College L/S.
I think his PIQs helped him at Berkeley. Although S23 with similar stats gained no UC/CPSLO acceptances, S25 had some modest success, so I may be obligated to change my user handle now.

Acceptances: UCSD, Clemson, NC-State, FSU, UT-Knox, CU-Boulder
Waitlisted: UCD, UCSB, UCLA, SDSU, Virginia Tech
Rejected: UCI, UGA (after EA deferral), USC (after EA deferral), CPSLO

ACADEMIC STATS: UW 3.87, Fully weighted 4.54, UC-capped 4.13, SAT 1440 (relevant to the OOS schools he applied to)

ELC (top 9% CA HS): Yes

Number of a-g courses: 30

hey, can someone tell me how many applicants were there?

127,000 undergrad

That’s a tremendous run. CONGRATS!

You MIT want to think about this one long and hard

Someone I know got admitted Early (in Feb) to UC Berkeley. They were not MET or a recruited athlete. We thought it was for the scholarship, but they haven’t received any update on that matter, not even an interview. Has anyone been interviewed or received a scholarship offer?

Super bummed, got Berkeley but can’t afford 70k international fees :sob: will be withdrawing

Not all early admits were chosen to interview for scholarships, admitted in competitive programs like MET or recruited athletes but just top students in their own right.

Yes, there have been some Regents scholarships awarded and interviews already completed.

Yesterday was incredible. Berkeley is close to home and has been DD’s dream school for ever, but with all the UC waitlisting this year we had started to put it out of our minds and were starting get excited about UCSB which was the only other UC she had.
Thrilled that she will be a Cal Bear this fall!

4/4.3 (capped)/4.5 fully weighted
9 APs/ 3 Honors
ELC
Microbial Biology at CNR
Three time President’s gold volunteering
President of two clubs
Wins at state and International HOSA events
UCSF internship over summer that she sought out herself

Grateful and delighted.
