For the February early notification, they are all admits. No waitlists or denials.
Thanks @Gumbymom for the answer (and all the other answers you provide).
I never heard back from that group when I inquired.
Many groups don’t allow prospective parents. They wait until after May 1 to accept parents of students who have enrolled.
Question on switching majors- Son got admitted to CLS and had put Cell & Molecular Biology as first major choice on application. Now, he is thinking of switching that to Integrative Biology. Since, you dont typically declare your major till after a few semesters, I am assuming that he should be able to declare for IB easily and make the switch? Any insight into this? Thanks!
As per the L&S website, seems pretty easy. Student can change major multiple times but cannot go back to the previous major. Can declare after the first semester. Forms are available on the L & S website.
You/student can also contact the PAL (peer advisors for L&S) for more info…
Thanks!
For Cal, does one have to decline admission, or is simply not paying the deposit the way to decline?
Yes your student needs to decline. This will open a spot for someone that is on the waitlist. They should decline all schools (except the one they accept).
If you cannot find an option to decline your acceptance, then send an email to admissions.
Things can change (teenagers, stock market to name a few). It is probably best to keep some options till the end of the month.
I agree and not declining until the end if the month does not hurt waitlisted applicants does it?

Yield is already factored in the calculation. Lot more people would have to decline than their expectation for berkeley to move to the waitlist before May 1. This usually does not happen at a school like berkeley.
Is anyone going to Cal Day on 4/19?
Yes!
Planning to attend with S25; hoping he chooses UCB over USC
My S24 is out of the country on a gap year, but he’s already accepted his spot in the class of 2029 and I’ll be there with a friend picking up his swag and go to the info sessions for engineering to gather info for him. Probably take some videos for him to watch as well.
D and I will be there. Prospective CNR students, come on by the ice cream social for a free It’s It (or vegan juice popsicle alternative).
