Wow, I didn’t realize that. What’s the reason if anyone knows, why the MET decisions come out so early?
They always come out early. I haven’t heard of any GMP admissions, but those usually come out in February as well.
Edit to add links to the website
MET FAQ -
Q: When will I hear back from UC Berkeley about the admissions decision?
A: Applicants who are admitted to the M.E.T. program will be notified in either February or March of the following year.
GMP Admissions -
Applicants who are selected for the Global Management Program will be notified during February or March.
Spieker -
End of March.
If I were a fortune teller, I would predict March 27. The last few years, admission decisions have come out the day before Cesar Chavez Day.

That’s only for MET and GMP? That does not include Spieker, though, correct?
Yes, Spieker should hear with everyone else.
I did see an Early admit for the HAAS Spieker program on another site but no GMP admits as of yet.

Oh, good to know. Were they a Regents candidate?
The poster did not say if they were a Regents scholarship candidate but was asking about the HAAS program in general.

We got the email everyone was anticipating about hey you might have heard we took a few people but we’re still reviewing most…So we continue to wait on.
Are all early UCB admits (top 1% of applicant pools) Regent’s and Chancellor’s Scholarship nominees? Based on my reading, only about 150 Regents will be selected. Is this about right?
Usually the top 1-2% of the applicant pool are nominees for Regents/Chancellor’s scholarships. Of the 150 Regents selected, usually around a 100 are Freshman and 50 are Transfers.

Congrats to the early admits! For those of you who are COE admits you would get first use of the brand new engineering center!
Some Hass and most MET also came out. There could also be overlap, a girl at my school was admitted MET + R&C applicant.

Just found out about another girl admitted to Haas but did not get R&C*

My S24 was accepted last year in the COE (Mechanical) and was granted a deferral, with automatic admittance this year. He just got the re-admittance email (phew!) and letter a few days ago. So - he’ll be in the class of 2029 and attend Cal Day, etc. with this class. He’s super excited and looking forward to starting college with a fresh perspective and lots of energy. (pm me if you are interested in stats - I don’t really recall at this stage, lmao)
GO BEARS!

Thanks! Probably worth putting that in a general UC thread somewhere… what really catches my eye is the jump in applications to Merced!

Riverside too, but UCLA slightly dropped.
