I came across a really helpful and recent post on Reddit where someone called several universities — whether or not they were on the waitlist — just to get updates and gather information.

They called UC Berkeley about three days ago and shared the following update:
“Hi! I called UC Berkeley today. No students have been admitted off the waitlist yet. They can’t say for certain if or when they’ll admit students. May 28th is when they receive final enrollment numbers, but there’s still no guarantee about waitlist movement. All waitlisted students will hear back by August 1st.”

So, hopefully we might hear something in the next couple of weeks. Personally, I don’t think Berkeley will skip using the waitlist this year for two main reasons:

  1. It’s a large school with complex enrollment management.
  2. Global economic and political uncertainties may prevent some admitted students from enrolling, or at least cause hesitation.

I have not seen any movement on the UC Berkeley Transfer waitlist only UCLA’s.

Guys im going to be honest, if it dosen’t come today then its over tbh :sob: like it really dosen’t take this long to calculate yield and send WL offers. If this rolls over into June then I think thats the first time in history that a college hasn’t sent any offers in May i think i could be wrong

What’s ironic is that UCLA has a lower admit rate and a higher yield rate than Berkeley and they have started taking a decent number of people off the WL nearly a month ago (about 5 got off at my school already). Super bummed that a school like Berkeley is stalling so long when even the ivies have sent out WL offers. If there’s gonna be no movement, they should at least make it clear and send out a mail instead of making us wait for so long.

Apparently freshman enrollment times also dropped today
 idk what to make of it.

Yeah sry I went back to check the post that I got that info from and I think it’s a grad program rather than transfer waitlist accept.
