seems like it is the case for other UC campuses as well, like Davis, San Diego… no communication whatsoever. UCSB recently closed their waitlist. UCLA is the only school with an open waitlist. shocked to see more movement from UCLA over the past years than at Berkeley lol.

Honestly it feels like appealing for UCLA gives you better odds for being on the waitlist of UCB
Looking at the numbers, at the top of the waitlist threads, do indicate that UCLA typically takes more students off the waitlist than UCB.
Somewhat surprising, when anecdotally we know of several kids who gave up UCB for other schools including USC/UCLA/UCI.

So no one is being taken off and they still refuse to send the closing of the waitlist email? They are really starting to make a clown of themselves at this point… pathetic and hilarious at the same time, coming from a university like this.
Is there any confirmed update on whether those 20 people are being removed anytime soon? Not hearing anything official from their side is just giving me false hope, and it’s really unsettling. I won’t be at peace until someone confirms it for sure or I hear directly from them.

Based on what I see from other campuses, it seems like the lack of communication is not just apparent in Berkeley but also with Davis, San Diego, etc… So the UC waitlist system as a whole is messed up.
Yes, I’ve been wondering if this has something to do with budget uncertainty at the overall UC level, given the current problems with research grants, international student visas, and other changing government policies that are affecting universities.

You are probably correct since the student stated that got off the waitlists a while ago and both would have had a deadline to enroll.

From last year, HAAS is direct admission for high school students i think. No one provided their stats in college confidential?
HAAS is direct admit and I did a search through the Class of 2029 discussion thread and did not see anyone that was admitted posting their stats. You might want to check Reddit or Facebook websites.
