maybe it will help to wait till spring 2021 cause of the pandemic? But yeah I can see why a full semester delay in graduation is unideal. also have to think of the opportunity cost cause if you graduated 6 months earlier from UCLA, you could earn an extra 6 months of salary from working.
Wow. Firstly I just want to say that you have been through so much, and you deserve this so much. I am so sorry for all of your circumstances, and its crazy to me that you did not get in. Not only do you have the great grades and major, but your story is something that you would think the colleges would go crazy over. It would be a loss for any school to not accept you. I just want to let you know that you for sure deserve it, and I know that you have overcome so much and will do amazing anywhere. I hope we both get in.
Wow congratulations to you too! I really appreciate the response, feels good to know I am not alone. I cant believe SC gave the scholarships to two of the same major! Woo go psych majors! Thats awesome. I hope we both get into Berkeley, but it seems you will have an awesome path anywhere you go as well!
Just entered the Berkeley online Q&A asking for an update for us. I was told that decisions will still be released throughout the rest of the month. Also āthey are released on a rolling basis and you are still under consideration for admission until told otherwise.ā Lets hope there is a light at the end of this dark, hopeless looking tunnel!
@mimininja any major that has a portfolio throws a monkey wrench into the application, unfortunately. Hang in there.
@girlxstyles Thank you so much for your kind words! I donāt have many people in real life to share my experience with, and unfortunately I am more often told that āitās you who probably made a mistakeā or āit canāt be that your classmates transferred with 3.2 GPA and you didnātā or āyou probably didnāt complete all the requirementsā etc. You made me feel so much better today. Thank you. I wish for all of us to be accepted.
This is their Q&A for those interested.

Thank you for sharing~Hope we could get the update tomorrow. As an international student without support by my family, I have moved twice during pandemic. I gonna move again at the end of August which will be horribleā¦I just feel I amolst lose my strength both physically and mentally.
Hi everyone,
Iāve been lurking on this thread. Does anyone know if its safe to update the portal with spring 2020 grades? I am worried it will change the date of my opt-in. I contacted Berkeley on the chat, and they said that once you finish the opt-in, it is finalized and you canāt submit more information and just wanted to get another opinion. Best of luck to everyone!
@shayc3 I hope itās okay! I just submitted mine yesterday. I feel like it should be fine given the fact that not all schools would have had final grades by the waitlist opt-in deadline (may 15th).

Umm thatās weird. If it is finalized then why do they have the option to edit it? And I believe it would be fine since I remember that thereās a guy in this thread updated his/her final grades a day before he/she got admitted.

I did the same today! Letās hope for the best!
Yeah, I was a bit confused by that as well, thank you all for the responses. I just updated my portal with my spring grades, best of luck again to everyone!
@givmethemail I feel you with all my heart. I once been in your shoes - no work authorization, no support from anyone, bills and super expensive non-resident tuition. I was about to give up and go to Germany (they have free tuition for international students), but their embassy lost my passport and I ended up staying here. I hope you at least were able to get your ssn before the quarantine (many jobs which are not related to your major directly can still be approved as opt), otherwise it must be crazy tough. If you donāt have associate degree yet, you should know that you can do opt with a certificate as well. Also, if you havenāt done it yet, you can apply through your college for āsevere economic hardshipā and they might give you work authorization. And take care of your mental health, use any available therapy sources and ask doctor about other options. With a right mindset it will be much easier to keep going and not giving up. Good luck to you!
Than is my concern for UCLA waitlist. My school ended on May 22 and I got final grades this month. I just send a message to their Q&A about my final term update.
Hey everyone , is there any Haas waitlist student who has or hasnāt received any acceptance notification yet?
I sacrifice A LOT to keep letter grade for coursework hoping they could see my efforts even during the pademic. I am quite struggled as an international student who does not know where to go and could not go back home either.
@givmethemail what I mean is that exactly because you put so much effort into it and sacrificed a lot, you need to consider every possible outcome. I am sure that in the worst case scenario all of us will still be reapplying again next year. I know how hard it is to get f1 visa again once you left the country, so my advice is to talk to international office in your college and they will tell you what you can do to stay here and work, so you could maintain your legal presence until you will be admitted.
anyone got in as a STEM major recently?
For anyone that submitted the spring 2020 grades, for the course number is it like for example PSYCH 215, would 215 be the course number or the 4 digit number that is used to register for classes that is different for every professor?
