I’m out. UCI just started the summer session this week. I’m going to focus on summer school unless UCB makes the decision before June 30th. UCB just wasted my time and money.
this is so confusing.
why is it taking so much time?
I think they want to fill every single seat without overadmission. But I just feel we are taken as tools.
No matter what is the case, they should offer some necessary info rather than have some contrary messages without any update since April 17.
Just a heads up to everyone-
A UCB rep on the live chat 30 minutes ago said that all transfer waitlist admissions will be released on June 30th. Contrary to what a different UCB rep said a couple of hours ago.
The same rep said “It is possible that a few spaces will need to be filled but we are encouraging students to proceed with their alternate plans at this point”.
I am preparing for a rejection on June 30th. I’m sure a lucky few will be offered admission on that date but it really seems like there are no plans for a big wave. It’s gonna be a small one if that.
Edit: Someone on the chat asked about the discrepancy between the wait-list admission date from the reps. The Rep said “please hold, we are going to confirm that we are providing accurate information”.

UCB reps confirmed that waitlist decisions are coming at end of June. They confirmed it with other people at the Office of Admissions.
So it seems like June 30th is the date. No waiting until July.
That being said because of the wording it seems like they are targeting end of June there is just no guarantee they are finished on time.
I still think we can reasonably expect decisions to be finalized on June 30th.

Yeah, I think the numbers for this year might be around those of 2018, or slightly worse.
There is no way that even close to 50% of people were admitted off the waitlist this year. That was how many were being admitted pre-2018.
I heard fewer frosh get admitted as well. But I dont know the accuracy for this info
actually way more wls in 2018 got off at this time…
