No glitch here. This waiting is excruciating and all I want at this point is to secure housing for this fall ASAP (off-campus ofc) at either Berkeley or Santa Cruz. The only thing stopping me is that I don’t know if I’ll be getting into Berkeley. I just want a yes or no!!!
Fingers crossed everyone on here is notified tomorrow, we all deserve it.
it always occurs afaik - but doesn’t have to be the night before! There’s a chance we all get extended anyway, and they have a meeting from 2-4 pm tmrw. I doubt it’s releasing tomorrow if I’m being honest lol.
id prefer if berkeley just gave us a decision now. but considering what a mess this has been i wouldnt be surprised if they extended the deadline another 2 weeks or 1 month…
Okay so on the Live chat it has been confirmed no decisions (freshman appeal transfer appeal/waitlist) will be released today. Their goal is tomorrow. Hang in there lads
"Student:
Will transfer/appeal decisions all be released different times throughout the day tomorrow or one specific time?
Student:
WL and appeal sorry*^
Rep 1
We don’t have the information at this time.
Rep 2
These decisions for WL and Appeals will be coming out in waves. We hope to close both lists by July 31
"
I guess they may still be sending decisions until the end of July lol
Um…decisions can just mean rejection letter since they release that every July1st. Go back to 2017 and 2018 threads the official rejection letter always comes out at that time.
I was excited to finally being done with the month long wait and now I see that Berkeley extended it another month lol. Berkeley admissions what is you doinggg. It sounds like they have absolutely no plan.
Does anyone else know if any other wait-lists have been as big of a mess as this one? Is this the only wait-list that hasn’t officially closed yet?
Pretty sure past people who got admitted off waitlist got in for Spring term. At least the person here who got off on the 10th for Global studies and some guy from Reddit.
@ShmopyShoj
I believe UCLA is not closed yet and will probably release decisions into August. However, they have been accepting and rejecting people since the beginning of June. Also, if they accept people in August it should not impact the students that much in terms of courses because UCLA starts late Septmeber if I’m not wrong.
On the bright side, if Berkeley plans on extending to July 31st, it may mean they do not want to reject everyone and possibly accept more…
Idk just guessing. It’s hard to stay hopeful
Q: I completely understand. However there is still a possibility of additional spaces becoming available? Thanks.
A:@Kim we are unsure at this time. It depends on what students who have currently accepted their offers do. If we reach our capacity, then we cannot accept more students.
So it seems as if they are still deciding on whether or not they will have space to accept more students because they are waiting to see how notable the melt will be.
I really hope we aren’t waiting till July 31st just for everyone to get rejected. That would be so messed up.
