UC Berkeley Fall 2020: Transfer Waitlist Thread

im pretty sure the dean of admissions is african american but lets not make anything here about race lol. unrelated subject to admissions decisions

I wish I was wrong but the very last releases will always be rejections.

I really hope someone gets accepted here and proves me wrong because well… history says its going to be everyone else getting rejected.

well if its not at 5 guess we’re stuck waiting till july 31 :((((

rip nothing

Nothing here either, nada de nada… No rejection, no acceptance, no glitch…

Im getting so frustrated. I genuinely expected it 8 minutes ago.

nothing

Before the chat ended, someone asked if it will be released at 5 and the rep said it should be released after 5. So let’s hope that there’s still a chance that it’ll be released later today.

Reps are told that the “decisions are released at the end of this month”
Thus they tell you that it will come today. HOWEVER, THAT MEANS THAT REJECTIONS COME ON JULY 1st. SO the decisions that are released means that if you weren’t decided admittance, on July1st you will get rejected.

So everyone will be rejected tmrow, like 2018 and before when they got rejected on July1st too.

@harryjackson1 sorry but that was the most confusing comment ive ever seen

The rep said ALL waitlist and appeals will get updated today. I don’t know where the July 1st come from.

They were telling that in the live chat this morning.

clearly the info was wrong. plenty of admission rep info was wrong so not sure why people keep trusting it

Wait List students
Students should be reminded that if they are offered a space on the waitlist, they must opt-in via
MAP@Berkeley by May 15, 2020. Accepting a spot on the waitlist is not an offer of admission and we
encourage students to consider other educational offers as well as the waitlist. Students will be notified on or
before July 1, 2020, whether a space is available for them.

RIGHT NOW, JUST PRAY TO GOD.

Nothing

lol watch them release 11:59pm or something

@beans456

All the classes I would need to take are remote for fall so I’ma do remote. Likely Winter is gonna be remote as well the way things are looking. I’ll look to lease or sublease in Isla Vista if things are back to normal by Spring.

UCSB is taking it really seriously and everything is closed down for the foreseeable future on campus. I really don’t see the point in living on campus if everything is closed and we are basically gonna be confined to the rooms.

Isla Vista is still somewhat lively and people are still going to the beach so that’s cool but then it also comes with increased exposure to Covid. If you decide to move out I’d say IV is more worth it than staying on campus.

This is the right move. If say only 10 out of the 3000 left on the wait-list were going to get admitted then they should just go ahead and inform everyone that the waitlist is closed. A 0.33% chance is basically zero. Not worth putting us and them through anxiety for another month just to make sure their enrollment numbers are exact.

So what’s the consensus right now? You guys think some acceptances are gonna happen tomorrow or will it all be rejections?
