Several UC’s had higher than normal admit rates from their waitlists last year. I believe they were conservative on the original enrollment estimates so they accepted more off the waitlist.
According to all the portal astrology hacks, I apparently got in, but I’m still waiting on the real decision
4.53 weighted, 3.87 unweighted, ECs: raised 2.5 million for tourette’s research (spoke at the capitol to pass a bill), wrote a research paper through ASDRP (research program), Neuroscience research program and immunology program at Rosetta Institute, Research at UC Berkeley with a Neuroscience professor, Started 2 research nonprofits which raised 10k in total and helped 100 students publish 10 research papers, Raised 17k funding for hackathon, Regional champion and placed in states for Science Olympiad, Managed Youtube channel with 250k subs, School neuroscience club VP, School red cross club president, Tutored 15 kids for 70 hrs total, AP scholar with distinction, Volunteer Gold service award, blah blah blah stuff that doesn’t matter
Essays: One 10/10 essay, rest were 8/10. Best one was about my experience at the Capitol advocating for Tourette’s funding. Second one was about my hardships with Tourette’s and overcoming most of them. Third was about my time at ASDRP and the research I did. Fourth was about the Rosetta Neuroscience program and my project there.
Major: Psychology, College of L&S
Lol I got waitlisted from all the other UCs except Santa Cruz so I’m banking on Berkeley. Wish me luck guys!
Here is the data for the last 3 years found on the top of this Waitlist discussion. Every year is different so it will depend upon how many admitted students enroll by May 15 and how many spots are still available. Opt into the waitlist and move on since you need to enroll in another school by the SIR deadline.

Last year, they only accepted updated Senior grades/transcripts and no waitlist statement or LOCI. It should state on the Waitlist FAQ if things have changed.
If I am remembering correctly, they did not really accept those either. The form was briefly open to submit transcripts, but then they quickly removed the form. (Or am I misremembering?)
Yes, I was just scrolling down the thread. They were telling people at first not to submit unless it was specifically requested. Someone called admissions and was told not to submit anything. And then they removed the section from the web page for everyone (I believe) on April 6.
