Right it specifically says evaluations will be based solely on the originally submitted materials. (Per the FAQs this year)
Waitlisted - applied to Haas Speiker business program. 4.4/4, The UC GPA is probably 4.55, 9 APās, 5 honors by the end of senior year, National Merit Finalist. Fingers crossed that a lot of Haas Speiker admits decide to go to Wharton, Ivys or Ross
I was waitlisted too. I didnāt see anything for LOCI, I think there isnāt anything like that for UC schools this year. I heard of people having to do that for UCLA last year (2023).
UCLA is the only UC which asked for a waitlist statement, updated grades and new accomplishments. All of the rest of the UCās no longer ask for any documentation to be submitted for their waitlists.
Hello ! I just got waitlisted at UCB! And wondering if they accept any LOCI or any types of supplemental and when will waitlist decisions would come out
No they do not accept any documentation such as LOCI. Opt into the waitlist and move on to the schools that accepted you.
anyone wants know when they will release waitlist decisions
There is no specific timeline. It depends upon how many students enroll by May 15 and how many spots are available after that.
2022: Few admits starting May 11 with trickles of admits until July 7 when the waitlist was closed.
2023: Admits posted on May 8, May 23 and June 20. Admits on July 5 with A few alternate major admits noted. Denials posted on July 21. Rare admit on July 24.
My daughter just opted in, and it didnāt let her do anything at all ā just click the box and type in āCONFIRM.ā Weāll probably still give admissions a call because she accidentally underreported her A-G courses, and while they understandably wouldnāt take the correction, I hope they will now.
Im curious how the total number of UC waitlists will compare this year to last. I cant believe how may kids we know with WLs!
I think it said āmostlyā on previous application, but definitely donāt seem as interested in new info as UCLA.
From the UC counselor conference
Same! Almost everyone who my D24 knows who applied to Cal was WL - heard of no denials. She opted in and selected the FPF option. We will not hold out breadth on this one. She thankfully has a lot of great options and this will just be a nice surprise if it pops up at some point. Good luck to everyone here!
Hi! My son was waitlisted, so he can click a button or fill out a form to be considered? Is there a downside to doing so?
And then he moves on and accepts an offer elsewhere.
So what happens if he is offered a spot off the waitlist in the summer months?
Also, is there a place to designate another major choice?
He applied to Mathematics and was also very interested in Physics or EECS.
There is no downside to accepting the waitlist, as long as he moves on and accepts an offer elsewhere, as you said!
If he is then offered a spot off the waitlist, he can reconsider.
Math and Physics are both in L&S and are not considered high demand majors. If he is accepted with an intended major in Math, he would be admitted undeclared to L&S, and can choose to study Physics if he prefers that over Math.
Hereās what it takes to declare a major in Physics:
Students may declare a physics major when all of the prerequisites for the major have been completed or their equivalent with a 2.0 grade-point average (GPA) in the prerequisites and a 2.0 GPA in all University courses.
As far as EECS is concerned, I do not believe that there is any way to indicate additional or alternative majors in COE at this time.
Also, if the student is admitted off the WL, they cannot switch to EECS because it requires a change of college and COE doesnāt allow anyone outside of COE to switch into the EECS major.
Yes. So if the student ultimately decides that EECS is what they really want to do, they would probably be better off choosing another school where they were admitted into the major of choice (or have a realistic option to switch into that major), even if admitted off the WL.
My nephew got in! Heās rejected by an ivy school last evening, but we didnāt feel bad at all, UCB releases decisons on ivy day for reasonsā¦
I noticed the UCB astrology was not consistant, I think astrology works for most of people based on the data I collected, UCB might have made last minutes updates.
Psychology is very impacted major, and major does play some roles.
@Suhaas_V got in already.
lol yeah
