UC Berkeley - Missed The Deadline Supplemental Form

Title explains it all, I went onto the MAP portal and did not see anything in my checklist. I am now finding out that UCB requires an additional form supplementary to the TAU submitted on the UC website. Does anyone know if I will be auto-denied? Has anyone been accepted when forgetting to submit the form? My CCC counselor never mentioned the form to me…

I tried calling admissions but their phones are off due to “staff training.” My regional admission officer told me there’s no way to extend the deadline and it “may” affect my application. How screwed am I? Please, anyone with experience or knows someone who had a similar issue.

This is from the UCB FAQ:

The Transfer Academic Update can be submitted after January 31, but is not guaranteed to be reviewed. We cannot guarantee that changes to the forms on the portal after January 31 will be reviewed.

So submit the update and follow up with admissions.

This is not in regards to the TAU, I submitted that on the UC Application website. I am talking about the supplementary form for UC Berkeley. It was never on my checklist but from a lot of online research, I believe it is referred to the “Breadth Form.”

I will have all my major prep and IGETC completed by the end of this Spring, but I did not even see the supplementary form on MAP.

Please email them and submit your form. They will reply. Admission offices are extremely busy at this time. Good luck!

Thanks for the response, I do not have access to the form! I have never seen the form either!

The only way to email them is on the “Contact Us” section where they provided the response “As the deadline has passed, you are no longer able to access this form.”

I have no way to access the form yet alone send it to them.

Sorry, so you are talking about the Map form?

This is what it states on the FAQ:

The form for UC Berkeley will be listed in your campus application portal (MAP@Berkeley) under “forms” starting in January. You’ll receive an email notification.

So you were suppose to receive an email. Have you checked your SPAM/JUNK folder?

Hi Gumbymom,

Yes I saw the email & opened it. The reason I did not submit it is not relevant, but it was an oversight. I was haggling with the records office at my school to fix my transcript, and in the mix, I did not realize Berkeley was telling me to submit a separate form other than the TAU (I submitted the TAU before the Jan 31 deadline). I did log on to MAP during this time, which is what the email directs you to (does not mention the form name) and saw nothing requiring my attention. I assumed there was nothing needing my attention and now I am finding out this form is absolutely required.

All you can do is contact admissions and see what they say. Keep all documentation you have sent and received in case you need to submit an appeal. Hopefully everything works out. :crossed_fingers:

Seems through their email contact form, they will not entertain the submission of the form if late. I’ll try to reach out when they reopen the phones on February 9.

I am so disappointed that I let this happen. I am mostly looking to hear from previous applicants who had the same experience and what the outcome was.
