Yeah I applied college of engineering, I was starting to stress
I tried calcetral. It says " unrecognized " and we have 4 addresses in portal.
If anyone has 4 addresses in portal or do you think it doesnât matter?
Many thanks for registering for the UC Berkeley Global Edge & Freshman Edge Programs Information Session coming up this Thursday, March 21st from 4-5PM, PST.
Did anyone receive the new zoom link ?
Ya It was linked 2 paragraphs down in the email
It came to parentâs email ( me) not student .
D24 applied to college of engineering. Do not have the link.
What link?
Can anyone register for a reception?
Or get into the ânew admitsâ hub?

We have four but arranged in a column rather than side by side. Funny how the portals are different.
Because, i saw it by phone . Did you have 4 from first? I donât remember clearly.
I want to say there were only 2 at first but Iâve been checking portals so often to make sure everything is complete, I really canât say for sure. I donât see how the number of addresses would mean anything though.
Because i never have seen any schools we applied have 4 address. So i thought it is odd. Hahaha. It is never bad sign though it may not be any sign .
Does anyone have true true false on this one? Apparently, it was a sign of acceptance last year.
nope, still false false true for me. I hoping next week thimgs change
(These comments arenât directed at any specific posters; Iâve just been meaning to type them up for a bit.)
I think 99% of all portal astrology just ends up being counterproductive, but three recommendations Iâd have for you if you DO get into it.
-
When accessing your own portal:
DO take screenshots every time you access your portal. Screenshots are free. Take a screenshot every time you access your portal and set your computerâs preferences to save them all to a folder on your desktop.
DO NOT try to remember what your portal looked like yesterday, or last week.
Why? There are all sorts of fiddly things people ask about, and itâs impossible to remember âwait; did I have that link before and just didnât notice it?â or âdid that wording change on my screen, or has it always said that?â Just get a screenshot every time, and youâll have a record. As a bonus, you can post the screenshot here (redact any sensitive info) so people know what youâre talking about. -
When describing what youâre asking about / seeing on your own portal:
DO use complete sentences, post screenshots, and copy/paste the actual text you have on your portal.
DO NOT use pronouns like âitâ or âthatâ, or post fuzzy half-sentences
Why? Especially as the deadline gets closer and people start throwing in vague comments like âIâm not seeing thatâ, itâs impossible to know which other vague comment theyâre replying to, or what theyâre referencing, and it just ends up creating additional confusion. -
Regarding timing:
DO be patient. Wait until a day or two before the decision date.
DO NOT get too invested too early. Like right now is kind of silly.
Why? Schools donât upload decisions until just before the decisions come out. There might be different aspects of the portal right now (âI have a link to a summer session; my cousin does not??â) but those are almost always due to other factors â person A applied to a specific college/major vs. person B applying to a different college/major, person A applied for financial aid vs. person B didnât, person A is in-state vs. person B is out of state. Getting sidelined by differences in your application just creates confusion when what youâre trying to suss out are differences in your admittance, and itâs too early for that.
Again, I think most portal astrology is really only good for winding people up. But if youâre going to do it, at least be thoughtful about how you approach it, so you donât end up adding to the chaos.
Where we can see?
I can not find it in withdraw button.
Please , capture this screen shot?
Where is it in portal?
The UC Berkeley annual âPortal Astrologyâ thread seems like the most Berkeley thing ever: the school is tied for having the No.1-ranked Computer Science dept in the country and yet the universityâs IT staff and undergraduate admissions office have devised an applicant portal that allows enterprising sleuths an early preview of decisions before theyâre officially released. Wild.
