UC Berkeley Portal Astrology Discussion 2024

no it’s not. Last year waitlists were not authorised. Berkeley would not bother creating an ID for waitlists

The numbers on the polls dont make sense though. 3/5ths have forbidden. Last year it was 30% and that accounted for sample bias

Not authorized means rejection. But too many are in forbidden.

I think having two polls made the bias worse. People who got the “rejected” signs are unlikely to have stayed around to fill out the second poll. The second poll started out extremely biased to “accept” signs.

Only when the second poll link was posted to reddit did it start to move back towards majority “rejected”.

I think since the poll was posted to reddit, it has been something like 70/30 rejected/accepted. On top of that early extreme bias, it sits at 60/40.

I think it mostly checks out as consistent with last year.

Same for all astrology results. I was rejected by ucla tho

is waitlist not authorized or forbidden?

In previous years, waitlisted students saw Not Authorized. When the results were loaded, withdrawal option was shown only for waitlisted and accepted students(maybe after wed)

Thank you for this! For CAS - Central Authentication Service, did you get “You have successfully logged into… However, you are seeing this page because CAS does not know about your target destination and how to get you there…” paragraph after “Log in successful” in bold?
Also, when I clicked log out, it became logout successful; but when I clicked log in again, it became application not authorized to use CAS.

My college stats: 4.56 GPA, EC’s research publication, passion project nonprofit, internship, Eagle Scout, Boys State, 11 AP’s.
UCSD accepted, UCLA waitlist

Everything similar to yours above. Confirmed with several freshman at CAL their 10 digit UCB ID starts with a 303 if in the L&S department. Others start with a 304. Confirmed they both also did portal astrology and also “forbidden.”

Confirmed with several seniors who got into UCLA got “not authorized.” They are all strong students with strong stats.

UCB is my dream school if this is true I would be extremely elated! Polls also don’t seem accurate because many people are voyeuristic viewing vs engaging. I decided to share my results. If it was “not authorized” I wouldn’t want to share.

Separately votes, here are so many people who have Forbidden. No?
If having forbidden students, also got into UCLA?

i have a friend accepted by ucla and also have forbidden

Maybe it’s either or. I assumed it was a correlation?

Maybe it’s either or. I just confirmed with two CAL freshman and their start with a 303. Another friend who got into REA Stanford this year got a 304.

I also had dual enrollment classes and a job. It was a crazy two years I want this to be over. I almost had a mental breakdown!

Yes, we got in UCLA and right now showing UCB Forbidden, L&S, ID 304.

they make sence. It is still substantially larger number of people having not authorized. Plus, last year forbidden was 33%, now it’s 38%. Taking into account bias, anxiety and that there’s simply a percentage of people who replied incorrectly, this numbers DO make sense.

not authorised
