UC Berkeley Regents for Transfer students

It sounds like in the past they have released them before but someone said historically it’s been the 5-15 so right before admissions decisions. I’ll let u know when I hear back from the scholarship lady. She hasn’t gotten back to me yet. And I think it would b strange that absolutely no one on here would get one.

^Seriously?! So there’s actually a chance of finding out before admissions? I soo hope this is true. I’m dying here guys. I can’t make it 17 more days…

Does anyone have a link to a cc thread that talks about when regents candidates are announced for transfer students? I can’t find any info on this.

These two pages are a little bit dated, but it seems like we do not find out until in mid to late may, after we have already been admitted.

Let us know if you hear something different from someone that works in the scholarship department.

Thanks for the links. But isn’t late may when the actual winners are announced? In other words the finalists must be announced sometime before that, so they have time to narrow it down?

@music1990 I don’t think there is a nomination process for transfers. I don’t even think we have interviews like freshmen. They just award them. At least that was what I took away from reading their webpage and the past forums (look at the last post on this one where he receives his notification letter, from 2005 so it is pretty out of date) <a href=“Berkeley Regents - Transfer Students - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/64665-berkeley-regents.html</a> Seems like he was not nominated. Still have no concrete evidence though haha

under selection process in this link it says “California candidates are invited for a one-on-one interview with a member of Berkeley’s faculty in early February and interviews are scheduled in late February and March. Notification regarding disposition of candidacy is made by the end of March.”
But right below that it says:
“Out-of-state, international, and transfer candidate’s admission files are reviewed by the Committee on Scholarships, Honors, and Financial Aid”
Which makes me feel like we are excluded from the people that are interviewed and instead our applications are reviewed by a committee and that is it, no application/nomination
Lame that it is so far away, but nice we don’t have to stress about interviewing

Thanks for the info. I guess I should just get comfortable and wait for the 25th like everyone else. It’s just hard having your future up in the air like this.

Guess we’ll all have to suck it up for another 17 days. :-w

@music1990 I totally agree. For many transfers too it’s not like we are freshman and will just go into the dorms. I need to find a place to live and everything before the semester starts and I would love to at least know what area of California I will be living in.

It’s only 16 more days guys…not a big deal :)>-

@ocnative‌
Yessss it is 16 days is going to feel like an eternity. What is your secret to not caring so much. Please share
Btw, is someone going to start a Berkeley transfer thread? Isn’t it time yet? That would be cool

Someone chance me please?

GPA: 3.93
Major: Haas business
IGETC: Complete
Only prereq left I’m taking right now, and that’s Calc II

@GreatestThe If you have good extracurriculars+Essays, you have a very good shot :)

@GreatestThe It’s very hard to chance you. GPA is very important, but is not the only factor. Your extracurriculars are important. Your essays are very important too. They are looking for life experience suggesting leadership, maturity, ethical character, teamwork, and goal orientation.

@GreatestThe oh and IGETC doesn’t work for haas, i believe you know that already :slight_smile: Good luck!

@music1990

Lol I’m actually pretty nervous for the 25th but I try not to focus my attention on it too much.
I was thinking the same thing…where is the Berkeley thread?! :-/

<a href=“UC Berkeley Transfer CCC Admission Decisions 2014-2015 - Community Colleges - College Confidential Forums”>UC Berkeley Transfer CCC Admission Decisions 2014-2015 - Community Colleges - College Confidential Forums;

There is this one!

@ocnative‌
I would start one, but I don’t feel cool enough. It would probably just die away with my luck lol.

@smashley93‌
That’s cool, but I think we need our own one in the UC forums. I feel like a stranger over in the “Community Colleges” side of town. Someone start one pleaase. Make it look all official too.
