Essays: I was told by an admissions counselor at Berkeley that they were great and that she wouldn’t change anything.

@choukevin not really, unfortunately. Tacos Sinaloa is the closest spot to campus, but they’re really not very good. If you want good tacos you’ll have to BART to the mission district or San Jose. But then again, I’m from LA, so my taco standards are pretty high!!
@smrider29 I guess, that’s just what my friend’s TAP advisor/ counselor had said before. I was just confused because I had all my prereqs done with a 4.0 to a non-impacted major. So I was at the least expecting a wait list. I guess there was something on my app they didn’t like. Oh well I’m not even trippin about it LA was my first choice anyways.

Omg. I got in. I only applied on a whim because it was free. I NEVER thought I’d get in. I had made peace with attending UCLA, but I know that I must go to Cal. I’m so…wow!!

Essays: reading over them again, I could have fixed a lot of small errors, but I think my passion for journalism shined in all of them. I talked about how the journalism department in CC broke me out of my shell and that I want to continue pursuing journalism on a wider scale to educate, inform and comfort the masses.
ECs: Four years in my college newspaper in several high editor positions; two small journalism internships; placed top three a couple times in state journalism competitions; always had a part-time job.
Ooooommmmmmmg. I can’t believe it!!! I for sure thought my GPA would be the end of me! I’m so honored and gosh darn proud to be accepted to all of these great universities.
