@Imoulse100 Yes, I was thinking about majoring in Economics and minor in Computer Science too. I think that’s a more reasonable path to take. Good choice on classes btw! Just what I’m planning too! (:
You can create your Calnet ID by going to CalCentral under tasks click on “get Calnet ID”, it will then redirect you to another website in which you will then click on “Sign In with MAP@Berkeley ID” and you will be able to set it up.
Is housing for sure first come, first serve? I’m planning to visit mid-May and make a decision afterwards but now I’m concerned about housing…
@Mitroyo I tried doing that but it says I’m not allowed to view the page. Maybe I should just wait a few hours for it to process my offer acceptance?
Did anyone hear back from USC Dornsife? CCC student Econ major
is there a fb group for us yet?
@ChavBruvSat which page is it not letting you see? The one after you click on “get Calnet ID”? Maybe you just have to wait 24 hours. I didn’t try to set up my Calnet ID right after I accepted admission so idk if it lets you do so right away. I accepted my admission yesterday and today I created my Calnet ID with no problems.
Congrats to everyone who got in! You have all the reasons to celebrate. I was driving when a friend told me to pullover immediately. I checked and it started w/ “Thank you…” I thought I had been rejected but I read further and I got onto the waitlist for Haas. Idk if I’ll get in but I opted into the waitlist anyway b/c who knows haha. I got into USC Marshall for Busn Admin too so if Haas doesn’t work out I’ll be heading to So-Cal! Again a massive congratulations to all of you and I hope you make the most out of your time at the best public university on the planet!
@helloapple I’m USC Dornsife Econ as well, haven’t heard back. I’m pretty sure for USC they release admissions in order of your admissions counselor. So if you have an admissions counselor that is on top of it, you will get your acceptances early. I know my CC has the same admissions counselor and they all haven’t heard back yet, regardless of what major they’re applying as
Accepted Congrats everyone!

Major: English
GPA: 3.9 as of now

TAP: Isn’t offered for my CC
Accepted: UCSB, UCSC, UCD, UCLA, UCB
EC:

Insight essays were mainly focused on my personal growth
I’m probably going to UCLA but it’s a hell of an honor to get into Berkeley
@inspiredbysleep Hi! There is a Facebook group but I am not allowed to link it. It only has 4 members though, so I’m unsure if people are adding themselves or not. Search “UC Berkeley Transfer Class of 2020 (Official)” and you will find it.
@QueenA101 congrats. Without a doubt your focused ECs played a huge part.
@Mitroyo I’ll wait and see what happens. Hopefully ill be able to create the calnet id tomorrow.
Just to confirm, can online classes fulfil the IGETC requirement for UCB?
@ChavBruvSat I’ve accepted my admission, but I don’t see the button to make the CalNet ID anywhere? Where did you see it?
Accepted! Really surprised since I got rejected from LA and waitlisted by SD, and my academic stats are mediocre. I’m guessing my essays spoke more to the Berkeley admissions or something.

Major: Economics
GPA: 3.57
Major Prep: Complete
IGETC: Done
TAP: Yeah, but I didn’t use it? Like I signed up for it and then didn’t use it lol
Accepted: UCSB, UCD, UCI, UCB

EC:
-Worked as a math tutor all throughout CC
-Did goodwill volunteering like feeding homeless people, but nothing major specific.
-2 high school internships, which were closer to job shadows than anything.
-Part if a few clubs? Econ club, accounting club, honors society?
-I’m pretty sure one of my extracurriculars was weightlifting and I placed it there in lieu of Econ club lol
On paper, it doesn’t seem like much, especially since I didn’t have many leadership roles or whatever. This is why I think my personal insights hard carried me at this point. I wrote my heart out for those bad boys and I thought they were 9/10 at least. All of them were talking about how I’ve changed physically, mentally, and emotionally, and how I’ve grown.
Berkeley was definitely my school of choice and it’s an extreme honor to join the class of 2020.
Again, I’d like to say congrats to all those admitted into Berkeley.
@ChavBruvSat and @MeetPotato and for those of you asking about the Calnet id:
I paid my deposit yesterday morning and I was waiting to create my Calnet id, but it was not allowing me to. The only way I was able to get into it was through the map portal. I was having the same issues to create it as others have stated: only had the option to reset passphrase and not create the Calnet id.
I found this link to create the id: https://calnetweb.berkeley.edu/calnet-me/information-new-users
Once you create it you will be able to log in, it will send you an email with a ‘token’ to create it.
However, I still was not able to access everything and kept getting errors or messages saying I was not allowed to access certain pages.
I was not able to create my actual berkeley.edu email account until today.
It seems like it takes about 24 hours after you pay your $250 SIR deposit to actually be able to get things functioning a little better, although it says 1 hour.
Again, Congrats and Go Bears!
