Wow I’m so sorry man. How is it possible that a 3.95 get ejected? Have you completed all the major pre-requisites?
Any Statistics major got accepted? I am in my second semester majoring in Stat at American River College and I heard that tons of 4.0 students got rejected for Math and Stat major this year. Super panic right now lol:(
Sincerely congrats to those of you that got accepted!! Hope that I can see you there next year haha.
@ChavBruvSat and @BearyHapyTransfr Thank you guys! I was able to create my CalNet account today. I’m finally able to apply for housing now!!
Question about housing. Anyone planning on dorming when you guys go there? Do you guys know which apartments/dorms are more geared towards transfers? I heard Wada is good, but I’m confused about the financial aid for it.
Thanks so much for the advice!! I am in my second semester. Hope that I could still find some meaningful interns/volunteer works to do from now on, haha. I used to think a 4.0 GPA would most likely guarantee my admission though…
@luckyhoops Hi bro, I am also a Stat major currently in my second semester. Congrats to your admission! May I ask have you done any ECs related to the major? Or would you kindly give us some advice on how to successfully prepare for this major? Tks in advance!
Are there any ACCEPTED Rhetoric or Anthropology majors?? If so please post details (stats), advice, anything lol. Thanks in advance and congrats!!!

@z_xavier Is it possible you can tell me what you did to perfect your application? Also can you tell me what you did to convey your essay prompts effectively. You are literally the god of the UC Application LOL. Congratulations for getting into Haas! I’m going to apply this november so I’m asking everyone what they’re experiences are and focusing it down to the most common answers.
@z_xavier i saw your more detailed stats on your other comments and it shows you completed 87 units? I heard rumors that if i complete more than 80 units then I’m rejected from haas? If its true that we can complete as many credits as we desire then this is great and i can get 3 AA-Degrees or maybe even 4 instead of 2.
@melania Hi! I’m a Rhetoric major.
CCC transfer from SoCal
GPA: 4.0
IGETC: completed
Pre-reqs: have to be taken at UCB
ECs: a little bit of tutoring, volunteering for local environmental organization, internship at local political organization and club involvement
Essays: I’m not really sure how to score these since I didn’t have anyone look them over, but all I can say is that I really showed who I am and was 100% honest, I talked about the struggles I had in high school and how college was ultimately the cure for those struggles
Applied: UCB, SDSU
Accepted: UCB, SDSU
I would say that the most important thing is to let them know why you want to focus on Rhetoric since it is a really obscure major. They get a lot of people who apply just because of lack of pre-reqs or they think of it as an easier version of English (which is definitely not the case). You want to let them know that you really understand what Rhetoric is and have a strong interest in it. I also think I was helped by the fact that my CC offered Rhetoric classes as not a lot of them do. And even though I’m not an Anthropology major, I am considering a minor in it.
@Mitroyo can i create calnet account if I haven’t done SIR yet?
Accepted !
GPA: 3.48
IGETC: Done
EC’s : Volunteer at two non-profits, Internship at startup
Essays: Honestly wrote them the day before and was really worried because I know people get them read over by a bunch of people, So I’m more confident in my writing now, wrote about why I want to pursue my major, and how im prepared for it etc.
Applied : UCB,UCI,UCR,USB,UCLA
Accepted: All but UCLA
Still in shock I got in, one thing Im worried about is the social scene, I definitely wanna meet people before I start cause I know Berkeley is a very cut-throat environment and having a good group of friends makes the experience more memorable! Gonna visit next weekend if anyone’s there !!
@bouncehau5 Thank you!
@CalEECS2020 @jjonah15 Congrats guys! We’ll be classmates! When I’ll be a member I’ll pm you so we could hopefully form a transfer group
@aymc1104 Hiya, just saw your comment about housing. You’re AMAZING! I was wondering, in your opinion - I want to move in with my gf/future fiancee. Is university village an option? is it recommended? I’m transferring as an EECS major so I actually really want the Northeast side, but from a quick look on zillow it’s way too expensive.
@melania I applied as Rhetoric.
CCC transfer
GPA: 3.80
IGETC: completed
Pre-reqs: have to be taken at UCB
ECs: Student government, working on campus, president of a club, Honors Society
Essays: Almost perfect. Very well written took me close to 4 months.
Applied: UCB, SDSU, UCLA (comparative lit), UCSD, UCI, USC
