*****uc davis class of 2020 decision thread*****

That’s interesting. My son got accepted to UCSD and UCSB both. We live out of state and our daughter is a second year junior at Cal Poly SLO. At UCSD was only offered a package of loans, but at UCSD he is offered Regents and a Provost Award to reduce the cost of being out of state. While we’re not poor, my kids total tuition and other expenses is equal to my earnings from all of last year. So it’s a bit rough, out of state costs are pretty much equal to top private schools.

[Accepted - In state]
Major: Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior
SAT I (breakdown): 1710 (600 CR, 540 M, 570 W)

@UCorCSUFLDad: What are your son’s stats since high Stat OOS and International applicants are eligible for the Regents and Provost scholarships, but that is the extent of the FA available for the OOS/International applicants starting this Fall. Your son should be proud he was on the few selected for both scholarships.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Not sure. Maybe overqualified? But I don’t think so. Some of my friends with much weaker apps were accepted to CS though. A lot of people at my school who already got into ivies, regents berk/LA, MIT etc. were rejected or waitlisted by Davis. A lot of people with stats like me, maybe a bit higher, were rejected. I think they are probably trying to increase the yield. I do not think I was underqualified or overqualified for this college and major, but it happens I guess. I got SD so I don’t really care though.
Where else were you accepted: Deferred Northwestern ED and UMich. Accepted to SCU, NEU, Purdue, UCSD. Waitlisted at SLO, GA Tech, UIUC

@Gumbymom

I’m not sure his exact stats, but I’ll give what I know: 2200 SAT, 35 ACT, he’s in an IB program here that is very strong, and had all As until he ran into his senior English teacher, so a very strong GPA. Florida GPAs are psycho, so I’m not sure how to convert to UC. IB junior and senior classes are pretty much all AP, plus an AP or two in lower levels. All 5s and 4s on AP tests so far. He only applied to three schools - UCD, UCSB, and UCSD, so regardless he will be in California.

@dango98 Yes I received it. But I’m a bit confused if I should accept it or not. I don’t know if I need to input all my scholarships, because if that is the case, I don’t know how many I will have. I hope to apply for more. So I don’t know ><

I did not receive my financial aid award yet , what about everyone else ?

No, I’ve only received scholarship information so far, but nothing about need-based.

Has anyone received the link to the Aggies Day? The page says that we’ll be invited through our email but I haven’t gotten anything yet.

Nope nothing yet

I need some help with some information…
So i got invited to the Aggie Weekend at UC Davis. As i continued to read it said it automatically registers me for Decision Davis. Does that mean that by signing up for this event, I’m committing to Davis? It’s just kinda weird they would offer me a free round-trip for just a visit…

Decision Davis is the admitted students day that is open to all admitted students while the Aggie Weekend is a special program by invitation only. You do not have to commit to Davis to attend either event.

Do I have to commit when I attend Decision Davis?

@collegecurious29: No, it is an event to help you decide if UCD is right for you.
