To be frank with you, I honestly did not think I would have so many options in terms of college admissions. I thought myself as “average,” but since I compared myself to CC standards, that’s probably why. Once I logged off for a while and saw my own accomplishments intrinsically rather than compared to others, that’s when I became passionate in every single club I was in, every single class I took, and I think that’s why I’ve been blessed to have been accepted into 6 amazing schools with generous financial aid packages. I suggest that you do the same. Of course, you should utilize tools such as CC to gage your chances and determine which schools are “safeties” and “reaches,” but at the same time, all you can do is your best, and I know it sounds corny, but it’s true. If you’re meant to be somewhere, you’re going to end up there, regardless of what other people are doing. Focus on yourself and you’ll be fine, no matter where you end up.
@buglyfe19 UVA and UNC? Well done.

Is anyone going to the greet and meet event?
@Gumbymom do you know how they decide which students are invited to the Aggie weekend? My friend’s daughter was invited but my son was not and I’m not sure what the invitation criteria was.
@ConnieMM: Sorry, I really have no information about the Aggie weekend. I do know about Decision day since I attended with my son, but I do not even recall that when he applied 3 years ago there was such an event. Are your kids URM’s by any chance and high stats?
@Gumbymom: My son is not an URM but my friend’s daughter’s dad is Latino so maybe that is why she was invited. Not sure about why another friend’s daughter was invited. Thanks for the reply.
@ConnieMM: I did find a post from 2014 mentioning the Aggie weekend and the poster’s son was a URM.
I don’t think it’s for URMs specifically. I’m Hispanic and I didn’t get an invite
