That’s funny. My oldest attended Davis and never received anything related to being Asian & Pacific Islander. He did, however, receive both emails and snail mail from UCSB, and one from SLO prior to admissions.

Not all Asians choose that category in their application. Some just choose to not answer. Could be that only those who chose got the email.
Checked Asian on application with mentions in PIQs. No email.
When my oldest received those mailers from UCSB and SLO, there was no indication of race on their application. My kids are mixed with an API last name. My second child (with the same last name) did not receive API targeted mailers from any college.
There were also the scholarship checkboxes at the end of the UC app that students may or may not have checked off

Waitlisted students would have a longer “torture” this year as the SIR deadline is extended to May 15.

No, some of CSU’s are June 1. UC’s have a May 15 SIR deadline.

Historically, is there a single release date for all students or waves? 3/8 for early admits seems really late.
All Freshman decisions are released at the same time.

I still havent seen a confirmed release date announcement from UCD.
Tomorrow March 8 is speculated to be the date. Will have to wait and see.
Did they ever officially announce in previous years?
UC Davis has not officially announced their Freshman decision date for several years now.
