Confirmed - I received this email yesterday evening

Dear XXXXX,

Hello from the University of California, Davis! This Friday afternoon, we will share admission notices with high school seniors who applied to UC Davis . Students can check their status in [MyAdmissions], our secure admission portal. While counselors can’t access MyAdmissions or admissions decisions in advance, you can help your students understand what happens next.

This year, we received more than 98,000 applications for first-year admission and while we expect to grow the size of our incoming class, admission remains competitive. As a result, many highly qualified applicants were offered a space on our waitlist or denied due to space limitations.

Admitted first-year students have until May 15 to commit to UC Davis by submitting their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) through MyAdmissions. Students who are offered a space on our waitlist should take advantage and opt-in by April 15. Encourage your students to attend one of our upcoming events where they can learn more about the Davis campus and our community.

We expect financial aid awards to be available in mid-April for students who have submitted either the FAFSA or CADAA. Students who have not yet submitted their FAFSA or CADAA applications are encouraged to do so by April 2 . The Financial Aid and Scholarships team is working hard to process financial aid applications and will continue to do so throughout April and into May as needed. Students will be notified once a financial aid award is available, and they will be able to access the award through their MyAdmissions portal.

Not receiving an offer of admission can be tough news for students who had UC Davis high on their list. We know you’ll counsel them to chart their best option, including discussing transferring, if attending UC Davis remains their goal. We do not encourage students to appeal their decisions; however, an appeal form is available in their MyAdmissions portal.

Admission to the UC Davis Class of 2028 is a great achievement! We hope that you and your school will take time to recognize students who reached this milestone and share photos with the hashtag #New2UCDavis !

Thank you for supporting your students on their educational journeys.

Warmly,

Robert Penman
Executive Director

Thank you! If you post this in the decision calendar section I bet they would update it.

D24 didn’t get the above email. It will be interesting to see how that relates to her admission decision this afternoon.

This probably a mail to councilors, not to students

I am a counseling faculty member at a California community college in San Diego, we get the emails in an official capacity and will have no bearing on my S24 admission results.

Thank you for clarifying that for me.

I feel like we need a countdown clock to 3:00. I am so freaking nervous and know that she will be 100% fine either way. She has good safeties… But still… The next 2 weeks makes all the college planning work pay off…or not. Eeek!!

We are in the same position. My kid has had good results so far, but the really hard decisions start today with Davis & SLO likely. They can have rejections from both and still have good results going forward, but it will still be hard to get through the day.

Same here. We have UCSC locked in and are grateful for that, but would prefer Davis or Cal Poly if accepted. We know it’s going to be a bit of a reach with his GPA and no test score consideration, so all we can do is wait and see.

My D24 has UCSB reception invitation (likely meaning she is accepted there), but she likes UCD better because she spent 4 weeks there in 22 in a camp.

We are nervous. She has applied engineering but GPA is just shy of 3.9 . Good news is that we have options at some good OOS school. I feel like engineering for below 3.9 is gonna be tough. Her strong suits SAT and NMF is not in play at UC.

My daughter got Early Acceptance from UCSC and accepted to UCR & UCM so far. But she also prefers UCD for her BioChemistry major as a premed student. Good luck every one :kissing_heart:!
