‘No letters of recommendation, transcripts or other documents are needed.’ from Davis’ waitlist FAQ. Does this really mean no LOCI or ‘comments’ declaring interest anywhere? Waitlist acceptance screen and grade updates screen don’t seem to have any space for comments other than to specifically explain a D or E recent grades. Any thoughts on if/how to declare continuation of interest?
Yes, this year they are not accepting any waitlist statements and the UC’s do not consider demonstrated interest for admissions anyways. By opting into the waitlist you are showing your interested in attending UC Davis.
All you can do is opt into the waitlist, update your grades and move on until you hear back.

The UC Application did not have + or - for reporting grades but Coursework and Grades Update page for UC Davis waitlist includes + and -. Should we then change the 9th through 11th grades on this update page to correct those grades that included + and -? Also, the update page does not show the Algebra 1 class that was taken during 8th grade. Do we need to add that class to this update page even though it was already listed on the original application?
I would not make any changes to grades that were originally reported on the UC application or the Algebra 1 class. If they are asking for +/- grades for Senior year, then I would report them as such.
My daughter got waitlisted as well, had the same question, and emailed admissions. They actually responded quickly and said no need to alter the previous grades but do the +/- for the senior grade update.

UC Davis like all the UC’s do not list admit rate data by major for their waitlist since it can change every year. So it will depend upon how many admitted students enroll by May 1 and how many spots are available. The overall waitlist list data is posted at the top of this discussion for reference.
Hi, I’m on the waitlist for Nutrition Science. Just to confirm, I update my semester 1 grades, but do I need to submit my semester 2 grades since they will not be finalized until after April 15th? What about ap test scores that are released long after this date?

My son is a first year Political Science Major who is going to double major and pick up Economics as well. He is enjoying the classes and the future opportunities of internships as part of the degree is a great option.
Yes, update your semester 1 grades and unless UC Davis is asking for an estimate of semester 2 grades, I would not report them unless they are finalized. Once admitted, you can send your AP score report to admissions.

UC Davis does not break out admit rates by major only by discipline. The most recent data for Math/Physical Science majors was for 2023 which shows a 60% admit rate.
Do they consider your alternate major when admitting off the waitlist?
Yes, they may consider your alternate major also.
I just saw someone on Reddit post that they were just accepted off the waitlist OOS for Animal Sciences and Management.
