did anyone get off the waitlist for statistics?
@Crewser Similar experience for my S24, but different major.
Yesterday, S24 got off the waitlist of his “pre-season #1 pick” - UC Irvine.
He is sticking with UC Davis as its Physics dept course offerings are a better fit for his specific interests in physics.
Despite how disappointing the UCI waitlist was for him (on the same day as the UC Davis acceptance coincidentally), it gave him the opportunity to actually visit and consider UC Davis. I wonder if UCI had accepted him outright if S24 would’ve just SIR’d there without due diligence.
There is empowerment in both of our kids’ choices!

I agree - I was proud of him really analyzing and coming to his decision but like you - I’m guessing had UCSB not waitlisted him - he would have accepted straight out.

I was admitted off waitlist last Tuesday for Applied Math. In state, bay area. I’m most likely going to decline soon as I’m committed to UCSB, good luck anyone waiting!

My D24 was admitted off waitlist for applied math (in state, bay area) and she accepted UC Davis and declined UCSB (applied math) yesterday. It was a hard decision. She will seriously consider again if she is accepted UCSD. Still waiting for it.

My daughter got off UCSD WL yesterday (IS/Cog Sci). So the waves are still coming and should keep coming until June end.

Yes at least for my D24 page.
UCD WL release dates so far.
- 1st wave May 21
- 2nd wave June 4
- 3rd wave (probably June 18 since they did the 1st and 2nd with 2 weeks interval.)
- 4th wave (hard to say since the 3rd wave can be the last one.)

Your daughter would choose UCD over UCSD for cog science? Heard UCSD has a very strong cog science program.
It’s been very quiet all the UC wait-list pages. Hoping there is movement soon. Wondering if they are exhausting their lists and will close soon. I know they say it could go into late summer but feeling like those will be rare.
My daughter got off the waitlist in May in Animal Biology. We are OOS and she accepted. The academic advisor for Animal Biology said she expects 86 freshmen in animal biology; total about 335. Animal Science has 1500 undergrads.

Agreeing with you. Rather than waves, it may well be dribs and drabs from here on out. That, of course, would make admit chances quite low.
Yes, I think that is the case. Its been surprising to watch the UCD waitlist as it doesn’t seem to have been as active as others. Granted - I realize that this is a small snapshot of applicants responding here but it does seem like fewer than others. Maybe they nailed their yield and have limited spots all around.
