I think it is too early to make any predictions. I also still see posts of Freshman admits that have not received their finalized FA packages from several UC’s.

No news cannot be good news…UCSB has gone to their waitlist thrice already.
UCLA admitting in-state this morning.
Just my two cents here - I cannot understand UC Davis delay in admitting waitlisted students. UCSB has been the one that seems to be admitting a large percentage of students off the waitlist - started two weeks ago and continues daily. I know several kids who accepted at Davis and now are shifting to UCSB after coming off the waitlist. My son is in this situation so he has until tomorrow to decide if he will jump to UCSB. UCLA started admitting Engineering, Out of State, International and In-State waitlisted students.
That being said - Berkeley, Santa Cruz and Irvine have little movement - albeit some movement.
Has anyone called admissions to see what the plan is? My son is an admit but several friends are waiting.
It seems UCD been the last UC to release admission of waitlist.
If you call UC Davis Admissions, you will likely be speaking to a student worker. Even if you got the head of admissions, they won’t tell you their plan.
From what people have reported, UC Davis had a very successful open house. Maybe they hit, or were close to, their expected yield.
If a student who SIR’d to Davis gets off of a waitlist and decides to attend that school, maybe you will see some WL movement. Most of the WL students at other schools have a week to decide.
I know this is only a small sampling, but several students at my daughter’s high school declined their UCD acceptances from March. And if you go by last year’s waitlist timeline, it seems they did a wave about a week after the SIR date (last year SIR date was May 1, and wave happened on May 9, per the info in the first post of this thread), so it seems there may be some WL movement this week? Just a guess… no one knows for sure except UCD admissions.

Open house was a hit and I think UC Davis is rising in the UC popularity conga line of schools as everyone is really understanding the college town vibe - cost of living for off campus housing and the great academic programs. My son felt that the student/campus vibe of Davis and SB were similar - one just has the better location (beach)!

Is it possible UCD is waiting for other UC’s waitlist movements to see if any of the kids they admitted will now move on from them and free up spots on their WL?
As in one big wave rather than rolling…
I was thinking the same thing.
There will definitely be a trickle down effect within the UC system regarding the waitlist admits so yes, they may be waiting to send all decisions at once.
