UC decision dates...

Wow, that made me so much less optimistic

Wait, those are the exact same numbers as last year; they probably just updated the template or something.

What are you guys talking about? It is still March.

i gotta question…
my pepperdine acceptance says that i am supposed to respond/commit to their school by may 1st with a $750 non-refundable deposit. We won’t hear from UCLA until the night before, or berkely until that day, and stanford doesn’t even post until late may. Am i supposed to send away to pepperdine? Does this seem right?
I guess if ucla comes through(i think it should- i got the regents thing… just submitted it today infact), and berkeley posts as they say they will, I can make a much more informed decesion and I won’t worry, cause i’ll have more time to wait for the other school’s responses… but if not, and something gets delayed (like the server going down or the schools not actually posting) what do you think I should do?

Yeah, pepperdine just wants your money. That’s way too early for any deposits.

Yeah, I seriously think a lot of schools strategically do that. Like the state schools want to have the SIR by May 1st, around the time we hear from UCLA and CAL, and the UC’s want the SIR by June 1st, around when we hear from private schools like USC. It’s like they try to overlap so they get our money. There should be a national SIR day, like there is for sports scholarships to universities. I’ll probably lose a few hundred bucks with these dumb SIR dates.

I haven’t checked my admissions yet today! So proud!

You did not miss anything.

I met with my UC Berkeley mentor today and talked about the pepperdine admissions thing… she is going to find out what day the berkeley decisions will be released-in an attempt to save me $750. Apparently in the past two years, for transfers, Cal decisions have come out at 3pm the day before. But this year, May 1 falls on a Monday, so if the school is going to relases early like in previous years, it will most likeley be on Friday. I’m waiting for an email- after my mentor speaks to her advisor/the admissions guy at Berkeley, she will let me know, and I inturn will let you know. I know this is just stiring the pot but hey, its part of the fun. Muah ha ha… more for everyone to fret about!

if they realease it on friday, that woudl be great!, that would be the 28th and maybe UCLA can realease them on the 28th too.

what a rain in socal. Hopefully it will ene soon. :(

What do you guys know about the University of San Diego? I applied there and I think I have a real good chance of getting in.

What do you want to know?

It’s in La Jolla (vacation spot for affluent people), over 1,000 acres, points admission system, 6 college system, Strong Bio-Med department, No Division I teams (except vollyball), most on campus housing taken by fresmen.

He asked about University of San Diego, not UCSD. There’s a difference. University of San Diego (USD) is a religious (private) school.

Edit: Coast, check out the USD board here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/forumdisplay.php?f=398

Considering this is the UC decisions forum I’m almost sure he was talking about UCSD and made a simple mistake.

That might be the case, but I don’t know why he didn’t refer to it as UCSD like normal people do.

It is approaching April and my ulcer is starting to flare up. This is a good sign. :)

:) nikkei325i, I’m def. gonna take it as a good sign!

If the person wanted to know about USD, it’s really small, about the size of a bigger high school. The architecture and campus are beautiful, but most the the students are stuck up trendy folks. My friends and I used to go on the roof of the dorms because they are never locked and have great views of San Diego, but we got caught by a resident advisor and he said we’d get fined if we went back up there.

who cant wait to click the "decline admission " button for some of the UC’s
