I had a 3.53 and was a History major at the time I applied. I am now Middle East and N. African studies, which was going to be my emphasis anyway.

You didn’t go to UCSD, UCI or even USC beause you just wanna transfer to UCLA?

Ahoy Pirateslife, was that stats course the missing math requirement. because stats isn’t a required course for history.

Yeah, I needed the stats course to complete the IGETC. Although I here that now stats is required for all history majors in order to graduate. I turned down UCSD even though they offered $20,000 in scholarships, aid, and work-study. I live in L.A., I do not want move, and UCLA is my dream school. Why should I compromise? Why should any of you compromise if you have your heart set on a particular school?

Cause I don’t want to waste another year of my life on courses I don’t need. Life is full of disappointments you have to learn to deal with them.

You must love UCLA! Well, guess what, UCLA is also my #1 choice!
I’m not even sure what i would do if they reject me; may be if that happens, I would stay in CC one more year and apply again since it is possible to apply more than once and you did it… so

Do we need to do anything to become IGETC certifiedd? OR do they just look at our transcripts?

Transcript should have the indication of the IGETC certification if you really finished it and you have to send in your final transcript probably around July to verify that fact that you have finished the IGETC.

I hate the term “IGETC,” why don’t they make it like “IGETA” you know… IGETC is bad

It is your job to turn in the IGETC completion form when you’ve decided which college you are going to (once you have been accepted of course).

WillDO, you have to see a counselor, and they will certify you. You get a little ceremony and a cake. It’s really quite nice.

Oh awesome, I love Cake.

There are no classes I don’t need. I am on a personal quest to learn and know all things. You’d be surprised how what you learn in one class has relevance in another class that on the surface seems unrelated. I had an English prof. who told me once that if you are looking for a job, go to a trade school. The purpose of a university is to receive an education.

Pirateslife UCLA didn’t allow you to finish it in the summer prior to transfer. Did you try to appeal the decision?

No, I didn’t appeal. I don’t know why. I figured an appeal would in essence just be a beg and grovel letter, and I just wasn’t prepared to do that. I sort of regret it now, but oh well.

I think I just decided to not finish my igetc for UCs.
My igetc for CSUs has been complete for awhile and I put off finishing Spanish 2 because I hated Spanish 1 (earned a B). I’m pretty sure that I will drop this class after spring break and there goes my chances for UC admittance.

I am actually feeling relief because the class is killing me.
Maybe I should wait until some UC decisions come in? eh. idk.

^ finish the class, its alreayd more than half way done.

just get a c in it, you can do it.

Buerre there are only a couple of more weeks until the end of the semester. I agree with Malishka just aim for a C dont let one class mess up your hard work for two years.

Anyone here still waiting on UCR, I thought they would be the first to release decisions.

Just got accepted to UCR this morning, Bus. Admin. 3.44.

Just got into UC Irvine. I checked at 11 last night, but woke up this morning a very happy person!

Accepted: UCI, UCSB, Fresno State, Cal Poly, SFSU, CSUN.
Waiting: UCB, UCLA,USC, USCD, CSULB
