and I’m very proud of my essays. All 3.

Oh I attended CSUN before going to a CCC. Doesn’t seem like a problem since UCSD has forgiven me for it.

I don’t know how much more detailed i can get. haha, care to evaluate my chances for the last time before the real decisions come out? haha thanks.

with TAP, and all those great great extra activities, first generation college student, awards and honors, also working with 15 hr/ week, and your strong essays… you are shoe in to UCLA but your GPA is little below the average admits; I would say you have 75% chance for UCLA assuming you are not film major.

For UCB, I would say you have 50% chance.

By the way, thank you for sharing the stats, your stats is not impressive but it is VERY IMPRESSIVE. :D

I am going CRAZY thinking about this. I am waiting for UCSD, USC, UCB, UCLA, and Long beach.

Accepted and 6 for 6 at UCI, UCSB, Cal Poly, Fresno State, and CSUN.

Stats:
3.53GPA
Started my own business 3 years ago and grossing 500,000+ Per year (Much to my dismay, that does NOT mean I am making that much).
Graduated HS 2 years early and transferring from CCC
Business/Economic/International studies major.
Great prereqs from former Alumni at USC.

How are my chances? I know my GPA is not the average, but I hope I get in.

Yeah, kevin, thanks for your evaluation. My GPA is a notch lower than the average GPA admitted for fall 2005 [3.51]. So I’m hoping TAP will get me in crosses fingers.

philipcolett, Berkeley’s business program is highly competitive. Depending on your essays prereqs completed, I’d say Berkeley is a 50/50 chance. I’ve seen a pattern with Berkeley’s acceptances. They tend to go for the GPA and struggling students.

For UCLA, the average GPA admitted for business ECON had GPAs of 3.8. However, UCLA might love the fact that you started your own business and this might just get you in.

Agreed. If I may be so bold: I think that for a lot of people, Berkeley is easier to get into than UCLA. I can’t back this up very well, so don’t give me hell!

Yeah, that happens more often than you’d think. I don’t want to get into the conspiracy theories, but I think that it just comes down to that they’re different schools looking for different things. Depending what side you’re on (unless you’re on both), you’ll have a better chance at one over the other.

Yeah, and from what I’ve seen from last year’s UCLA acceptances, UCLA is more forgiving on the GPA part and are interested in the “all-around” students.

Coming straight to you from ucla.edu…thought it was appropriate :)

“So what should you do once you’ve applied to UCLA? First and foremost, you should concentrate on your studies: complete a challenging curriculum, get those good grades, take the necessary tests by the correct deadlines, and RELAX.”

kevin101, i noticed the e-mail you copied which you received about applying to the UCLA SITE program. I was a participant in the SITE program last summer, during the second session. It was a GREAT experience and i highly encourage all of you who will be applying to transfer for fall 2007 to apply for this summer’s SITE. You meet wonderful people who will tell you exactly what you need to do to transfer, and spending 6 days in the dorms with a bunch of college students is lots of fun. :)
