His stats are low (Toefl 89), and got rejected by UC Davis. UCI is the best school he applied.

So does it mean that if we are not admitted to our major, we will not be admitted as undeclared? Does anyone know from history if anyone has been rejected from both majors but got in as undeclared?

@ucgogo I applied to UCSD for CE and alternate in ME, but was accepted as undeclared. Apparently really common at UCSD right now.
I believe if they don’t think you’d make it into your major, but are a good fit for the school, they would accept you into the undeclared major.
Yup! Same here, must be pretty common within the engineering fields.
