@orionary The revoked admissions were for legitimate reasons like missed transcript deadlines, poor grades senior year, and self reported coursework not matching official transcripts. They ended up letting most back if it they just needed extension to get transcripts
Since they wrote that they will start sending decision emails after March 20, and they usually send the email a day after the portal is updated, it is definitely going to start rolling tomorrow! Cya TMRW at 3 pm PST!
@CopperlineX2 yes that’s what they stated but my understanding based on reading articles about it was they were reluctant or didn’t have the ability to back up their claims? Either way it was an unfortunate situation I’m sure they would like to avoid happening again.
Is anyone able to get on the portal? I keep getting the following message. The webpage at https://services.admissions.uci.edu:8443/cgi-bin/myadmission.cgi might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

Here is last year’s UCI data set to give you an idea of the # applied, offered, and enrolled by major, from the Office of Institutional Research, very helpful!: http://www.oir.uci.edu/files/adm/IA18-fall-fr-select-yield-by-school.pdf?R=909983
@sdsuparent20 I can get on the portal fine.
portal works fine to me
@marcovan @Knight4stars can you send me the web address you’re using?
@BayAreaMom15 - Thank you for that link. It is helpful to review that, even before applying.
So far, based on the pattern, it looks like UCs give primary importance to UC GPA, and only then check other factors (SAT, ACT, ECs etc.). So if your UC GPA is low, but you excel in all other areas, it may still not get the attention, sadly.
@sdsuparent20 Here you go https://login.uci.edu/ucinetid/webauth?return_url=https://services.admissions.uci.edu:8443/cgi-bin/myadmission.cgi?action=loginwebauth
Good luck!!
I’d rather them release them late and have them be correct than have them be rushed and not review the applications fully.
how did you know computer science was wildly popular this year? 0:
does anyone know if criminology, laws &society is a popular major??
How does UCI admission compare to UCD or UCSC?
@kaitlynwang your stats are super similar to mine! same uw, but uncapped weighted is 4.05 and uc is 3.67 and act is 34 so pretty similar. however, i got rejected at ucsd and ucd and also have similar seeming ec’s. hopefully we both get into uci!!
@CopperlineX2 actually they rescinded 499 students in July including many without transcript deficiencies. The students and families had to undergo a battle to get back in. The chancellor wrote an apology letter posted on the website (Aug 2). This was FAR beyond the usual rescission type of situation related to getting poor grades etc… And frankly if my D is accepted at UCI I will think twice about lettering her SIR given how poorly they managed the situation.
@missblyn same major here. Someone provided a link with stats by major somewhere in this thread. The major falls in the Social Ecology school. Reminder it is for the whole social ecology not just the criminal, here are the stats again

Do you guys think that last year’s freshmen overload will affect this year’s admission decisions?
UC Gpa is not everything for the UCs. I got into UCSD for Math-Computer Science with a 3.48 gpa and a 1410 SAT.
