My son got UCSD CS, but UCSB didn’t have room for him in CS. They gave him Honors program in L&S. Curious if UCI will give him his major or undeclared or not admit him at all! He loves UCI but is hearing UCSD has great CS program.

@CopperlineX2 Is CS at UCSD better than UCI & UCSB? My D was accepted Cs in UCSB, but alternative major in UCSD. She was also accepted cs (college of science) in purdue and cs in northeastern(honor)? She is in CA. Is UCSB her best choice?
@noble1111 I think UCSB CS in college of engineering is a great value for the instate price.
Is International Studies a popular major at UCI?

IMHO, UCSD CS program is only trailing UCB in the UC system.
If you believe csrankings.org (their method is public and, IMHO, objective), UCB > UCSD > UCLA > UCI > UCSB > UCD in CS.
@Rohael based on last year student data, 292/662 incoming freshmen were admitted for Int’l Studies and 38 of the 292 accepted, so it is relatively small compared to the other majors in SocSci

assuming rolling decisions out will take approximately one week, irvine has got to begin releasing their decision within these couple of days. with that being said, there’s a chance decisions are being released today (rumor so don’t get hopes up), but my bet is that it either begins on friday or monday. good luck to all applicants!
UC Irvine’s program is way better. It also has a higher ranking in the nation and in the global ranking.
