@UmaSridhar it’s regular maintenance. Happens every day and the system will be available at 6:45 am
but at 6:45, nothing will be on your portal just like usual
when are you guys planning on taking your college decision and submit your SIR?
@Brandon2000 graduation profile pic! congrats, hopefully that’s gonna be all of us here one day
@SweetCaliforniaWeather-12 …oh, thats my brother that graduated from UCI back in June 2017. Im next to him…Im in my senior year in high school, just turned 18 this month…lol, and my sis wants to go to UCB or UCLA etc…she has a 4.7W and 4.2UC, but she is a junior. Im still checking…but time to head out…crossing my fingers for some news today or tomorrow…
From another UC admissions site yesterday:
I’m getting worried about decisions. I would love to attend and UCI is my number one. Does anyone know if appeals have a large or small success rate?
Following this thread for some time - just joined today. Here is the link the the admission stats for UCI - it is public information.
I know it will be out by 3/31, but for me, the sooner I know, the sooner I can make travel plans. With school and other commitments, my window for travel is closing quickly
@Docstat26 I think it’s more the content of the appeal that matters than a general percent. For example, if you appealed but your reason wasn’t considered a valid reason to appeal, you’d have a 0% chance of succeeding, whereas if several things had occurred, all considered valid reasons to appeal, you’d have a very good chance
@Docstat26 Keep in mind that senior year grades or recent awards are not a valid reason to appeal. It must be new information about untold accomplishments or circumstances.

based on this doc. I really don’t like that they openly admit to accepting more out of states. My guess would be more profit. A state institution should first go for academia as criteria, not denying Cali natives with lesser stats for more money in the long run. smh smh
also can irvine like get their ‘stuff’ together. I mean seriously, I don’t know any other college portal that is down for maintenance like half of the day everyday.
Really disappointed with the very poor communicaiton from UCI to their applicants. All of the other UC schools have made admission day fun on social media and really pumped everyone up about learning of their decision - and they were very clear about when that day would be. What’s with UCI? I know they had the big public relations nightmare last year with their over-admits, but this isn’t helping to restore my confidence at all.
If it is any consolation UCR has only sent some acceptances and a lot of folks are still waiting to hear on that campus as well. They of course are rolling and started on 3/8 with only a few out that day and a very small handful since then. CPP is also the same way and they are stating it might go to the middle of April so UCI isnt all that bad.
I agree @unizee , isn’t this a pr nightmare just in a somewhat lesser form? I feel like i’m completely in the dark on something that could easily have been informed to the potential class of 2022
@Bean981 its still bad, just more colleges are doing it unfortunately.
Guys they are REALLY sending offers right now. Two of my friends got into UCI, one is yesterday and one is this morning. They are both freshmen applicants.
@Elsaaatt were they both accepted? are they sending acceptances slowly then eventually they will send denials
also are you in state or out of state
My daughter texted late last night yesterday and said someone that lives in her house’s sisters friend got accepted yesterday also but I wasnt sure what to believe. (note she is a current student at UCI and lives in the ICS house on campus) Maybe they are starting?
