Hi I still haven’t received any notifications about my admission decision. Has anyone been accepted yet with quantitive economics?
@orionary: I would contact the specific departments and ask how difficult and how many students are able to change majors. Even meeting the required GPA for the pre-req courses may not guarantee admission to some of the impacted majors.
I am very worried, has the admission decisions for quantitative economics or business economics come out yet?
Some people have got acceptances for business economics cus it was mentioned in the earlier comments @jcpiedcc859

Hey if I still didn’t hear back from UCI Biologcal Major does it mean I am rejected? Now everyone is econ or business major and it makes me soooo worried…

Does UCI admit and compare you by the applicants in your major? I’ve heard you are compared to your ethnic group
@collegedreamer167 They evaluate you in context of your school and socioeconomic class
@collegedream167: UC’s are banned from using race/ethnicity in their admission decisions. Since UCI admits into the University first and then into the majors, you are compared first to all applicants and then by major.

@collegedreamer167 Becuase it would be unfair to try to compare an upper-middle-class kid in Pasadena to a low-income kid from East LA because obviously, the upper-middle-class kid has many more opportunities to succeed than that the low-income has to
Does your stats have to be high for an impacted major? Because I know someone who got in pharmaceutical science on Friday with below stats for someone going in as a science/medical field major
@Katen1 I’m not even in the top 20% of my class (I may not even be in the top quarter), and I got into UCI for mechanical engineering. I got rejected from UCLA and UCSD, waitlisted by UCD and UCSB, and accepted to UCSC. I’m assuming I’ll be rejected by UCB shortly.
UC GPA: 4.14
ACT: 34
SAT Subject Test: 790 Math 2
AP Exam: 4 AP Physics 1
It may help to be in the top 9%, but I don’t think it’s all that important. My friends are in similar positions to me. Good luck!
@Katen1: Stats are only one part of the UC application, although a big part but that applicants EC’s and essays could have contributed greatly to them being offered admission. You just cannot know why certain individuals are admitted since no one here works in admissions.
@ucAdmirer ur stats looks pretty solid to me tho! And yeah, this year for UC decisions seems to be really random. I got waistlisred at UCD as well lol
@ucAdmirer I have almost the exact same stats as u and got the exact same decisions as u so far (except haven’t gotten uci yet)
