I’m literally checking this post like a billion times (including the weekend) cuz I’m sorta desperate as well. I didn’t apply to UCD/UCSC because I don’t like the area. The only UC’s I applied to was SD/I. I can’t even focus on my grades. I got accepted San Diego state. #-o

@SweetCaliforniaWeather-12 That is usually the case, but if you apply as a transfer, you can change the major. According to UCSD and a couple of CSU’s, it is impossible to change to a capped/impacted major. You have to take pre-req courses and maintain a specific GPA to switch majors, however, there is no guarantee that if you meet the requirements you can switch.

I got accepted but as undeclared.i dont know why. I applied there as CS major
@PawanGhimire: UCI admits into the University first, so you made that threshold then into the major and your application was not considered competitive for CS. You have 3 options: 1) Go to UCI undeclared and try to switch into CS later by taking the pre-req courses and maintain a specific GPA and even then it is not guaranteed.
2) Select another non-capped/impacted major at Freshman Orientation and pursue that
3) Attend another school were you admitted into CS directly.
You also be sure that UCI will probably under enroll this year, since they were over enrolled last year and utilize the waitlist pretty heavily.

Man UCI is my last chance. Applying for CS and since I got rejected from UCSB (my dream) this is my last hope! Not to sound desperate, I am happy going to any school. God bless.
alright guys, lets hope today is the day. i know were all tired of the stress and anxiety this school has brought us and we havent even started yet, but once we get accepted it will all be okay

Just checked portal right now and it is down for maintenance, it says…

@SmartGurl17 if that is the case i’m forced to choose a school that accepted me directly for my major :))
