To all of you that are still posting “WHAT ARE MY CHANCES?” posts, listen… You probably have the same stats as many applicants in the pool. It depends on what major you chose, and engineering/business/most sciences/CS are all impacted, and how well you presented yourself in your essays will be a key factor. Why need even ask what are my chances at this point? We can’t read your essays, we don’t know how your life is shaped, only the AOs can see that. No need to post it on here, we’ll just give you a definite, no guarantee answer. You’ll find out if you got accepted or not in 2-3 more days. The LEAST we can all say is… you have a decent chance, yet NO GUARANTEES. If you’re still worrying what your chances are, you should’ve worried about it during November. Not now when UC notification decisions are about to be done VERY SOON. And to the rest that are worrying how to get accepted off of the waitlist, sorry to break it, but it’s a very low acceptance rate over the past 3 years. Last year I believe almost 3,000 accepted the waitlist, and less than 800 got accepted.

@aweinst right now it looks like UCSC, I have gotten waitlisted from all of my top in-state schools, cal poly slo, ucd, ucsd, ucsb… i was hoping for irvine but i stll havent heard back so im guessing that it is a rejection.
My friend got Waitlisted with a 3.4W GPA for Bio Sci

So disappointed in the UC system for in-state STEM major admissions. For those waitlisted, the stats from UCI’s common data set from 2016-17 (http://www.oir.uci.edu/files/campus/CDS2016_17.pdf) are:
31000 admitted
8366 placed on waitlist
4503 accepted waitlist spot
835 waitlist-students admitted
(note this is NOT for last year, but the year before, but still reliable data direct from the UCI website)

finally heard back from UCR!!! ACCEPTED for biology. Now just waiting for UCI and Stanford!!!

I got admitted to university of massachusetts Amherst directly to computer science but i prefer either of ucsd or uci and i know the lottery that’s why i’m scared to not be able to be accepted as a cs major. Besides the major, i prefer ucsd as i visited both campuses and i liked ucsd better and the city itself is much better than irvine.
@aweinst whats your stats? If you don’t mind me asking.

@admitted1234: You were given the links for the change of major criteria for UCSD and UCI on your other thread. It is up to you to decide if you would be happy at either campus not pursuing CS if not are unable to change majors. Only you can decide is it worth the risk. Best of luck and UCI will probably be an easier admit for CS vs. UCSD.
I strongly believe that acceptances will come out today around 7:30-8.
Does it matter what major u apply to Uci because don’t they accept to school first anyways? So if you aren’t a good match for your major they’d just give you undeclared
