***UC Irvine Class of 2022 Applicants***

@vroomvroom24 No they’re just saying that it’ll all over the place, not necessarily a bunch of acceptances at once, then a bunch of waitlists, but just everything mixed together. At least that’s what i take from what @Huskybound said. I’m trying to look more at what @schlgurl said because it seems more positive towards the ‘more acceptances’ side XD

My son got waitlisted by UCSB, UCD, UCI, and Cal Poly SLO. Accepted by UCSC, but I told him we do not have money to burn. If he wants to go to UCSC, he will have a guaranteed admission as a transfer student through a community college with only 3.0GPA.

It is his issue that he did not look into other state colleges like a lot of you guys on this thread. I warned him he might not get anything through his brother’s last year’s experience. He did not listen…

State colleges are great, too.

@hoppy1 Does your family make less than $80k per year? If so, he should be eligble for the Blue and Gold program which waives tuition (JUST tuition, not room and board and other stuff)

Still nothing…
You have no new messages.

:-@

nothing

@SmartGurl17 I don’t agree with that at all. I think the people who are closest to being accepted should get priority if that school is their preferred choice. A lottery system may prevent someone who truly deserves admission to get rejected overall. It’s not a fair system.

I guess he was just joking about lottery

Smh nothing

guys would you recommend UCSC or SDSU for chemisrty

The way it is going. We really need lottery or how they will decide in two days

@vroomvroom24

We make much less than that, but we own a farm land in a rural area we have not been able to sell for years( no one wants it , something my husband got many years ago). Colleges look at it as asset as we do no live on the farm, therefore no financial aid.

We would even donate the land in exchange for college tuitions for our three kids! Sad situation…I feel like a failure as a parent.

My oldest son declined an offer from CAL Poly SLO last year to go to a community college. He takes care of his little brother when I work. I am so grateful.

Currently he has a guaranteed admission to either UCI or UCD or UCSB as a transfer student for the next fall. So it is not the end of the world. There is always a way.

God bless America!!

@hoppy1 assuming you live in California and your kid has a decent gpa (I have a 3.4 uw), you guys should be eligible for a Calgrant, which gives you about $12k. That plus pell grants makes you need to pay little to nothing. This is with the Blue and gold program that ONLY the UCs offer. CSUs dont offer this.

@vroomvroom24

Thank you for your message and your time. We looked into every possibility, but whatever the situation is, asset is asset even it is a farm land we can not sell(we have been trying for years).

They look at not only your income but also your asset(excluding your main residence, retirement account and business asset).
We are not qualified for any aid because of the land( poor financial planning…)

My oldest is looking into a merit scholarship for transfer students at UCs as he has close to GPA4.0 at an community college. UCs seem to have separate scholarships for transfer students.

How good is UCSB’s econ program?

checked my portal and still nothing today…ok UCI :((

ANY OOS STUDENTS!!! I am doing a survey regarding my senior thesis on what OOS students find appealing about schools in California. Please message me your thoughts on UC’s or California in general. I live in LA so if you want to ask me questions I’ll be happy to reply.

Are the acceptances/rejections appearing in the Message Center section of the UCI “My Admission” portal?

I just called the admissions office right now. I am requoting the Admission officer “yes they are still rolling with acceptances till the end of March” so there’s still hope guys. Don’t listen to whoever is saying that it’s all rejections now. There are still acceptances left. I’m not trying to give 100% hope but for sure there are still some acceptances left. It’s legit all random a mix of acceptances and rejections
