@ilikejazz If you feel uci is your destined school and they really misjudged your application, then sure go for it. But if you were already accepted to a better college, then no.
Well, looks like decisions are over! UCI became CPSLO this year. Acceptances–>waitlists—> rejections. It was nice following all of you throughout this entire process from UCR all the way to UCB. Good luck, and make the fullest out of college, no matter where you are!
As a mom I am SO proud of ALL of you! You all are incredibly bright to be in the running for these schools. I sure hope you celebrate whatever school you choose because that school CHOSE YOU as well. It was wonderful to be in this thread with you all and I wish nothing but the best for all of you. In regards to my son he is going to decline Cal Lutheran, Loyola Marymount, CPP, UCR, CSULA, and SDSU. He is super smart and I am VERY proud. He decided on his own to enroll today at Santa Monica College(community college) and start classes this summer to get a head start. He will be in their Scholars Program which hopefully will enable him to get into UCLA or UC Irvine in 2 years. This was SUCH an adult move. Please check out SMC’s program (google SMC Scholars Program). I will also add later the other site that has the colleges who have relationships with CC’s. His dream school was Pitzer and he got royally sc****. His college counselor neglected to submit the EDI commitment from the school so, listen to this, they denied him specifically for having an “incomplete file”. Of course we fought it and even met with the Superintendent of schools but we basically became a pimple that needed to just go away to Pitzer. Anyway Pitzer is also on that list with relationships. Best to you all. My son will excel and SO WILL YOU! Accepting change is a choice. Choose wisely.
Does anyone know when the financial info for UCI will be posted? Any speculations?
rejected from irvine, accepted to cal. f u uci.

Wait how do you “physically sign” your letter of appeal to irvine, if you are sending through the internet?
@grad2021 My son was very happy with his experience with the professors in the business program. There was only one that I recall he didn’t care for. Class sizes are small, professors tend to be industry professionals who give real world experience into the classroom. Chapman does have a career center that you can utilize for a year after graduation. My son went there once but didn’t end up utilizing it much. His internship was found via word of mouth from a friend. His current job was from a referral from a family friend. If you are close by I would stop by the center and check it out or place a call to them. Good luck!

@grad2021 if you’re on the waitlist I don’t think it’s wise to appeal
@PenelopeD good for your son on moving on with his life. That’s a huge indicator of success. No point in dwelling on the past, a lot of things are beyond our control if we aren’t the decision maker.
I think the only ones that knock community college are the straight out of high school students. I went to a community college in a major city (Los Angeles) so it was diverse and with the demographic differences as compared to a standard traditional four year, you come out with a broader insight into life.
I have friends that go to SMC. The only negative is that it’s harder to get classes as you get closer to wanting your associate degree, it’s a popular campus.
@shannypants you could print out the letter then sign and scan it, or get an a pdf reader such as xodo where you can input a signature, works best if you have a touchscreen
@Overthinker22, Thanks for the insight. Very helpful.
Does Uci send your official acceptance through mail? (Package)
yup me!!
@cat808
Can I submit a SIR at a Cal State University and also a SIR at University of California campus? Is there a downside or risk of submitting this?
@orionary which school did u decide to attend. As u r admitted to all UC schools.
@UCFreakKKK Sorry it took so long for me to respond. I don’t get on here every day. He has a 4.0 GPA, over 200 hours community service, 28 ACT and 1160 SAT. He also has quite a few AP classes. Not sure if that is what you were curious about, but there ya go
@Cantwaitdecision I have decided to go to UCI, commuting back and forth. Already submitted my SIR.
