For Regents it seems that different UCs value different things. UCLA seems to value grades more than others. So you could be in with a chance like your sister. My S22 was also offered regents from UCLA, but wasn’t even accepted at UCI.

What is the Waitlist Chance for Computer Science
Waitlist data is not broken out by major but most likely very low.

Thanks. Also, can you transfer to UCI as a sophmore? I feel like I heard you can transfer before the usual junior year.
My son got in today , CS engineering major
. Is irvine good for this major?
Actually , we don’t know well.
They accept Junior level transfers.
In order to be eligible for admission to our university, you must meet the following requirements:
- Complete 60 semester or 90 quarter UC transferable units by the end of the spring term prior to the desired fall term admission with a minimum 2.4 GPA required for California residents. All majors at UCI are selective and applicants are encouraged to earn the highest possible GPA.
Possible to transfer after 1 year if you have significant AP and DE credit.
Where do you see the scholarship?
Son 24 got accepted to his alternate major “biology”. His first choice was nursing. We are beyond happy. i am not exactly sure about the different GPA calculations or the number of courses.
Overall GPA 4.1 / unweighted 3.82.
Volunteered in a hospital for a year a half.
Heavily involved in sports, captain of their team. But did not want to do sports in college.
Founder and president of a club.
Strong essays.
Not under represented nor first gen.
He has been accepted to UCR, UC Santa Cruz, and also direct admit nursings at University of San Francisco, Arizona State, Seattle U, University of Portland.
Clearly his essays played a strong role to his UC acceptances as he got waitlisted at CSU Long Beach.
Edited to say we are in State

Fully weighted: I think 4.3. Since only the junior-soph APs count for OOS students
ELC (top 9% CA HS):.OOS
Comments about course load:
Number of a-g courses: She messed up her course reporting; maybe UCI was the only UC that accepted the corrections she sent, because the incorrect courses added up to, I think, 21.5. Was really worried about that
Number of UC-Approved Honors courses: 8 APs
AP courses/exams (scores in parents): Three 5s on the four she’s taken
SUBJECTIVE:
Extracurriculars:Sports, volunteering and activism, some pretty cool and unique performance ECs

Daughter was waitlisted UCI back in 2022, but eventually got accepted from the waitlist. Don’t get disappointed and you just never know.
I got an email saying there’s an update on my portal, but I can’t view my decision. How can I find my decision?

Two years ago my DD got into Cal & UCLA, but was rejected from UCSD & UCSB! It would be nice to have a UC in your pocket, but it could still come.
My son was on emotional roller coast today. First, he got rejected by UCD, and half an hour later, he got accepted by UCI, which is his dream school.
