I have not seen in previous year’s that they had a waitlist for the Honors college, so that appears to be something new. UCI has sent out an email in the past asking applicants if they had an interest in being part of the Honors college. Did he receive such an email and did he indicate his interest?
oh my bad.
I thought it was invitation to the honors college but I see it’s an invitation to join the waitlist…
Hmm I’m not sure. There’s a big blue banner that says join the Campuswide Honors Collegium Waitlist. And then says “Due to your record of achievement, you are eligible for the UC Irvine Campus Honors Collegium Waitlist. A limited number of spaces may become available for incoming first year students.”
This sounds like something new for this year since I have not seen anyone post about this before.

Just want to note that CC mentioned class registration priority for honors recipients but no mention of housing. Perhaps they updated the program this year. But it seems honor recipients do get 4yr guarantee housing.
I bet they will get in. My D23 is there now and said one of her friends got off the WL the next day.

UCI apparently won’t release financial aid packages until mid-April, but did anyone else see this message on the UCI OFAS portal: Login | Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships | UCI
Will be interested in hearing about financial aid. I see some saying they were already offered some scholarships so not sure about all that and timing.
Saw it, thought it was odd, but seems like it would only matter if you wanted to share with others. There is a pdf form to print and then upload I guess but don’t see why it would be required.
This is routine when it comes to access to student records. It is the same type of process that a parent needs to go through if they want to access a student’s bill to pay it.
